Doesn't have "The Prisoner" on it, now does it, Mr. Superior?

I still watch TV.

I almost exclusively watch TV for news only

Just because it is on your monitor doesn't mean it isn't tv.

I haven't owned a TV for over 3 years now, only ever watch it if its on at a friends etc.
I don't have to deal with adverts. I decide what I watch and when. And I won't even get into what kind of shit the TV sets pump out at you

I'm with you on this one....though getting all your information from the internet can be just as dangerous as watching the news. It's awesome to be able to hop online and watch the news as people in other countries see it.....scary how often times the message can be polar opposite. I noticed this especially in regards to the middle east and the so called "war on terror". Sadly, what they broadcast in the middle east is even more propoganda then what I get in the States.....even so it's interesting to see if from a different perspective.

DrBombay is right. If it's made for television and you watch it on your computer, it's still TV. Otherwise I would be considered a person who never watches TV.
False!

Re: Jaline
I literally only ever watch south park, ray mears/wildlife programmes, interviews/documentaries about my relative interests and the odd recommended movie.
TV decides when and what you watch, sticks adverts inbetween every 15 minutes, and the actually box pumps out radio waves that literally hypnotise you into watching, and god knows what other kind of subliminal unhealthy shit comes out of them
I only have to watch my little nieces when my sister puts the TV on, they stop running around wildly and go into this vegetated state. I did the same thing with the same show I downloaded in my room with them once and they didn't even watch it, they recognised it was on but carried on playing and talking with me.
The TV literally installs belief systems into humans from the vrey first few years of their lives, then it becomes something that has to be on all the time.
I know people that cannot bear to be in a room without the TV or radio on for fear of not knowing what to do, or being scared of thier own thoughts or something.
TV is very, very scary.
- After a few years of no TV I instantly feel uneasy when a TV is turned on around me, its pumping out vibrations of some sort that are not good.set
- -sort that really are not good for you.set
- I'm really not expecting any kind of response as 99% of people are brainwashed zombies when it comes to TVset
- invalid arguments or pure denial is usually the response!set
- do you wear a tinfoil hat when you have your nieces over?DrBombay

set, what you described would be paranoia. I'm probably on the other end of the scale when it comes to this discussion, (not that I would never say that TV is extremely healthy for anyone; but some people can separate reality from the (usually-stereotypical) "TV land" info).
South Park = TV. Some of the others are probably TV too, but I don't watch them so I wouldn't know.
- Can you not see how your argument is simply to call me paranoid and then say that SP = TV, what about al the points I made....lolset
- made... lolset
- although, please, don't worry about coming back with more, I am off out in a bit and...set
- arguing about this is pointless, we both firmly believe in our own stance. So hope you enjoy your day!set
- yup, that's why I didn't reply to your bottom post.Jaline
- set, the points you made aren't valid for every person out there. What about me? I watch so many TV shows on my computerJaline
- but I don't get mesmerized by a TV set. If you think TV = subliminal waves and the computer doesn't have any, itJaline
- doesn't make sense. I'm not talking about subliminal messages, I'm talking about waves. Both mediums are not that healthy.Jaline
- that healthy then. The above points are your opinion.Jaline
- You ARE effected by TV I am afraid, regardless of wether you say you are or not. GOOD DAY!!!!set
- I know I am, but people are also affected by what they see on their computers. Intelligent people know the difference b/wJaline
- ok I agree with you on that, but the computer isnt broadcasting shit unlike the TV, my neices proved this to meset
- understanding and challenging that information rather than just taking it all in and acting on it immediately.Jaline
- by way of how it completely captured their awareness when the PC didn'tset
- I don't even watch the TV set anymore. But I watch TV shows on my laptop, so it's still TV.Jaline
- anyway, this isn't going anywhere.Jaline
- I guess your talking more about info and i'm talking more about physical effects through certainset
- vibrations. Lets agree to stfu about this now, I have to go out! xxxset
- Is there any scientific proof about this? Yes, I am talking about content.Jaline
- there is no scientific proof of it, the tv screen is more comfortable to these kids.DrBombay
- Yeah. I think it's shifting to computers now.Jaline
- set0
Regardless of what you want to name TV or not, I am talking about the physical box and its differences to a computer, and how the two very differently effected my 1 and 3 year old nieces.
You can call it paranoia I will call it reasonable and healthy awareness.
Good day!

i TiVo a number of programs, but watch very few of them. At least I have the option of watching something that interests me at my convenience, and can skip through commercials if i choose. I watch a lot less than I used to. There are still programs that enjoy watching weekly, but over the past few years, my interests have switched to more constructive/artistic endeavors.

tv is just a delivery system, just as radio the internet and so on. It is all about content.
- DrBombay0
What if your tv is not a picture tube but a lcd screen? The same as your lcd computer monitor? This conversation is fucking retarded.
