hello all..having a bit of a problem maybe someone has a suggestion: I have inserted a highres tif into an msword doc..if someone on a pc opens the document, saves the doc as a pdf..when they go to view the pdf document (on their pc) the image looks pixelated at all %views unless u are very close at like 400%..however if someone on a mac opens the word document and creates a pdf and then opens the pdf on their machine the image looks crystal clear at all %views. Has anyone ever run into this kind of issue? I have even created high jpgs to replace the tif but I still run into the same problem. thx all.

get a mac

why do you have to go though word to make a pdf?

Be sure and use the file>import.
Don't drag and drop the image or it won't work.

How are you embedding it?
- UniCron0
im embedding from word.. insert/picture/from file

try converting the tif to jpg or png.
- PNG is the only way to go. JPG will de-compress and inflate the file size when re-saved by another PC.duckofrubber

Could it be the CMYK issue?
- UniCron0
fyi, im creating a letterhead for internal office use. so our logo has to be embedded into the word doc. But when people on a pc open the word doc and try to save out as pdf..the logo becomes pixelated at most views

If its single page, thought about embedding as background?

Have you tried inserting it in the Header / Footer function?
- UniCron0
i suppose i could try just making a giant BG tif or jpg..however Id like to keep the K size down...
- UniCron0
yea right now it is inserted via the header/footer function.

And what version of MS Word are you using and what others are using
- Llyod0
you shouldn't be using tiffs

Try using a PNG file.

If its in vector, I would suggest using EMF format. Export from AI.
