I have been using a wacom for 4+ years now (instead of a mouse), defiantly helps the with the carpal tunnel.

Got it today. It's definitely not too small for me. I even cropped the active area a bit, this way the bottom-right corner serves as extra palm rest area. I might go back to original settings though.
My hand and wrist are a bit tense, I must be doing something wrong.

anyone else have issues using the normal mouse when the tablet is connected?

i loves my Intuos 3, 6 x 9. I can design 4eva and its just plain fun to click on stuff... and Now that i'm here, a smaller tablet space would feel cramped i think
Oh, and my wrist just said to say hi. ^_^

i cant seem to change any of the settings on mine from the preferences? It keeps telling me that I don't have the drive installed but i've done it with the cd it came with allmost 5 times now

hey i'm gettin my intuous3 today too! :)
in exchange for some logo work for a family member. yay.really been looking forward to saying goodbye to this friquen mouse and saying "fU carpel tunnel" too! lol

best tip i got off qbn was tape some paper to your tablet for a little more tooth friction and a feel closer to pen/paper.
wears down the nib a bit but easy to replace (i know intuos came with a bunch of spares).

im enjoying mine
i use it here and there
mostly when im shading, or i need to draw something that would be easier with a pen

I have a used one if anyone wants....$30

I updated to an Intuos 4. The new pen feels kind of cheap compared to previous iterations. Do bamboo pens last long?

I have one. It's fun. But you can't beat a sidewinder mouse (PC).

Funny I got my carpal-tunnel-ish aches back in my wrist today as I started using the bamboo.

intuos3 for sure. love the weight of the pen.
i don't even own a mouse. fuck you, carpal tunnel!!
- true that! no pain for years. :Dbarbara
- yup intuos pen is great for finger flicking... weighted for perfect balance.horton
- that is what I changed. Havent had any hand problems since I got the pen.epete22
- Same here. Whenever I use a mouse or track pad my fingers start to hurt. Thank goodness for tablet I dont have to flip burgers.ArmandoEstrada

Intuos 3. Get one. I hate to beat a dead horse, but so much better accuracy and sensitivity over bamboo... I started out with a 4x6, upgraded to 6x11 and no longer use a mouse... I am a bit OCD when it comes to mouse lag, design, weight, shape, color... The intuos 3 was the best investment I've ever made if you design 8+ hours a day and heavy into vector art and retouching... hands down. Anyone know if they will ever release "intuos 4" anytime soon? I keep downloading the latest RC drivers as well and noticing improvement in tracking, but waiting on final drivers for the intuos 3 and OSX.
- this is my first, so i figured cheaper was better, its different but im liking it so farflyingnowhere
- word on the intuos! would never ever buy another wacom again or it would have to be a intuos4Jordy
