I have a iphoto related question... In my preferences I do not checked the Copy photos to iPhoto Library (something like that) but When I got thought the folder DATA in the iphoto folders, there are the photos I had imported. How this works?

Simply import with Lightroom and tag them.
If I'm looking for something in particular, I'll reopen Lightroom and search by tag.
By doing this I also get folders like:
/2008 - 12 - 26
/2008 - 11 - 11
/2008 - 10 - 16
....
/2007 - 12 - 29I only use Lightroom to import and catalogue. All other work is done in Photoshop (as Lightroom doesn't allow the use of adjustment layers).

i shoot film. so i archive the slides, scan as many keepers as i want, create a folder for each month and print contact sheets out. contact sheets are easier to reference then the slides. time saver for the future really.
for digital i only use a p/s for party photos, so i do that by year / month.
i use bridge to tag photos for whatever name person subject i want.
