Help me out - do you think this is actually real?

And Nikon D90 Body for $569?
http://www.1wayphoto.com/product…Here I am shopping for a D40 and if I can get the D90 for around that price above, why would I pass that up?

don't ever!!!!! if it sounds to good to be true....

And I'll add that in my research, I've learned that low light prime lenses, f 1.8 and f 1.4 AF lenses do not focus on the D40. That's kind of a turnoff because low light situations are of priority to me.
If I can go up a little bit in price to give myself a wider lense range, I don't see why not go D90 if this price is realistic.
- D40 only focuses AF-S lenses, there's no AFmotor in the camjimbojones
- if u want sigma lenses they have to be HSM to work on D40Samush

Thanks gung_hoek for the info.

probably stolen with no manual, cables, or any ancillary stuff

yeah, sorry mg, they're not of the AF-S variety, they need the AF screw in the body to autofocus. usually if you find a camera with a deep, deep discount, it's probably a fraud waiting to happen.

careful of grey market goods as has been eluded to in the above posts.

D40 is around $450 with kit lenses at several local stores. Read great comparison reviews to d60 and d40 looks the way to go. Just not sure if I want to commit to no autofocus on certain lenses. Really want a good low f stop prime for low light stuff. Who knows, manual focus could be fun? Then upgrade to d90 body down the road?
- up to you. most of the people i know who use D40/60's stick to the kit lens foreveromgitsacamera

i would rent after the new year to see if you really want to commit:

i think the new 50mm 1.4G works with the D40.
- didn't hear about the new one. thanks!omgitsacamera
- people are reporting Sigma 50 1.4 to be better though.tkmeister

Thanks tk.
So here's a good question:
D80 body and cheaper af f1.8 lense at under $150?
Or
Cheaper d40 body and the af-s lens above that is $450 ish?

if you don't mind a used d80, B&H has it for $470. The d80 have a better AF(11points vs 3pts of d40). it depends on what you are planning to shoot. With the DSLRs, it's so easy to get caught up in the gear specs. I would spend more on buying the best lenses you can get because lenses will last at least 20yrs.

just bought D90 - its awesome in low light and if you want to spend less and avoid focus motor issue of D40/D60 then pick up an end of line D80.

Go for the d90. It has a better sensor than the d80 (cmos instead id a ccd), it has better low-light handling and the option of an external flash (sb600/sb800/sb900 not attached to the body) is very handy and gives a lot of flexibility
The d40/d40x/d60 are very decent cameras, but if you're semi-serious, you'll be hungry for more after a while.

isnt that just for the body and not the lens?

These type of companies will tell you the battery, charger, and pretty much all other included acessories are extras and do not come with it. You have to pay extra. If you insist on buying without them, they take your money and the product becomes "backordered" until you finally call it quits.
You should check out any unknown internet retailers at www.resellerratings.com

Just buy it from a reputable local shop. You'll get better service if anything goes wrong.
