It's piece of shit.
What are are your thoughts about CRT monitors. I just started a new senior design position and found myself sitting in front of two 19" CRTs circa 2000. I left a position where my best friend was my 23" cinema display.
Can someone make me feel better?

OSCAR?

the refresh rate on CRT's is generally better (though LCD's technically don't have a refresh rate) and thus, better on your eyes.
Aside from that, welcome back to the 90's?

is it tan?
if so=retro future hotness.

i always worry about a company that uses inferior tech.
if they've never upgraded either:
- they don't have the cash for new equipment
- don't care enough about their employees to upgrade
- don't care enough about the company to upgrade
- think new equipment don't make a difference^ all those are bad. 2 jobs ago it was like that and the company sucked balls. never again.

One other thing...if it's cold where you are, CRT's tend to give off alot of heat in waisted energy :)

Dude it could be alot worse. My last job when I first showed up the only thing I had was some uber-crappy old small form factor Dell computer. Major POS....with a tiny 17" display.
Luckily I talked them into getting me a G4.

hm. well, now I feel like i've committed a bit of douchebaggery for complaining.
like bitching about your dinner while watching a christian children's fund infomercial.

Dell. man. wow. how!?

i have 2 - 19" viewsonic CRTs at home - had them since about '99. I much prefer my 24" Dell at work.

How can you work in those conditions!? Demand something decent.

I kind of dislike the gradient effect in them if your eye level's in the middle of the screen. Don't know if the higher end ones are above that.
