Suitcase has got a lot better recently and the functionality is good ( so I am told). But Linotype is free and I have had serious issues with earlier version of Suitcase and decided never to go back
- Yes I tried UTS recently and I have to admit it's not that bad. Anyway, no reason to change if you're using FontExplorer...ItalianStallion
- UTS is good if you need to control and share fonts on multiple computers and set administration issuesItalianStallion
- +1 Dancer.ian
- by the way, I was talking bout this:

Install FEX and use it for a while, if you don't like it try a 30 day trial of Suitcase. FEX's interface is pretty cluttered IMO but I don't stare at it all day so it does not really fuss me.
I do find that some of my fonts will not work in FEX and if I use Fontbook the font works... dunno why though

What's up with this? Why do you dig it?

Because on Linux there aren't many font manager programs. I only know 2. Fontypython and Fontmatrix. And actually, I was quite surprised with Fontmatrix, it was much nicer than Suitcase 9 on Windows (which is the one I used before I moved to Linux).
I posted it here because apparently they just released MacOS/Windows ports.

Been a Suitcase user since forever..
at some point I started getting font issues, when moving fonts to a different drive ( I think that is what caused it) and since then it was all downhill, I asked here if anyone know how to fix it, and someone said to try Fontexplorer.I have been with it since then, and not going back.

What would it take to make you all go back to Suitcase?
- ESKEMA0
to be fuckingly much better than fontexplorer because I'm not gonna purchase a product if I have a better option for FREE!

+1 Suitcase; drag and drop floating previews...

Horton: "suitcase fusion is a completely new product, makes linoX look like a novice toy"
I'm sure is great, but I have been using it all my life and I only switched cause it was causing problems, not because I wanted something else. I was introduced to Fontexplorer and I have no problems, it reliable and so easy to use. I have no reason to switch back now, unless of course it would start giving me problems, wich is not the case.
see my point?
No need to sell it to me, I was you 8 years ago :)- actually no i'm not trying to sell and had also been a longtime Suitcase user switched to LinoX...horton
- used LinoX for 3-4 years and started reading reviews of how great the new Suitcase Fusion is, so switched back, and yeah super happy with ithorton
- super happy with. just sharing my experience with colleagues as i was in the same boat; super pissed with older suitcasehorton
- ... and don't patronize me plz. i'm 34, been designing on a mac since high school.horton
