The scary thing is that we seem to be more towards the beginning than the end. :(

Didn't renew a fulltime contractor and laid off one production person. One account person soon.
Hiring freeze. Probably more early next year.

doing ok actually. Hope in a well deserved bonus.

The studio I was working at (http://www.digitalbrewing.com/) went one step further and said fuck it, and just closed up shop for good. Of course, their $200,000 whiteboard/see-through glass window combo probably had nothing to do with lack of funds to pay employees.

Alright, F--k it. C'mon Blue, let's start a band. Any other takers? We can be the "insert name here" and tour Europe crush our enemies, see them driven before us and hear the lamentation of the women.

Business is slow but stable here in DC. No layoffs, no hiring as far as I know.

we're busier than ever, though we had lay offs end of October, about 16 people in a company of 150. I'm hoping for the best into next year, but of course only time will tell.

Holding, with hiring in sr. management/strategy area only. We had layoffs & cost cutting/freezes a few months back. Doubtful on a bonus, but who knows we are ended the year strong.

getting a swanky christmas bonus this year, and the company is doing well. but we're only 4 peeps here, so it's easier to ride out the tough times

We're a studio of 4 in Wilmington, NC and are not hiring or firing, so much as I know. *crosses fingers* We were looking for a web developer about a month or so ago, but that search has since ceased.
- Where do you work? Wilmington is on my shortlist of desirable places to live. What's the design scene like?gramme

I friggin' hate it when companies let people go right before Christmas. Especially, the companies that do it on the 24th. Just hold onto them until the New Year and let them have Christmas.

Layoffs at my company just started a few weeks ago. 25 so far. They started by letting the more senior (expensive) people go first.
Salaries are frozen. No overtime allowed.
Thank god I don't make alot. I'm probably just going to hide out in the washroom and hope they forget about me.
