I like the idea but think the naked women might look cheap and gimmicky unless they are going for a bond intro vibe?
You could do some super narrow depth of field macro work using juicy fruits/veg and also repeating/tessellating patterns on various foods?
1:1 magnification marcos have an incredibly low DOF by nature and can be quite cool as the photo is effectively abstract except for one tiny portion.
Below is a gecko I shot at f7.1, at f2.8 you only get about 1mm in focus.
- A friend of mine is an abstract nature photographer. Some of his macro work might demonstrate what I mean better. http://www.andrewdav…slappy

those watercolor/nudes will put that place over the top (it's pretty close to too cheesy already).
i sorta liked the idea of shots of the space itself hanging on the wall... that would be kinda rad and would play on 'local' pretty well.
the space definitely needs to lighten up a bit. giant clown paintings or something stupid (think thrift shop art) in tacky frames would contrast sterility quite a bit.
large, grainy, b&w people shots would be safe/easy and tie into local, and would probably be far more up your friend's alley...

My first thoughts were along with your suggestion above (water colors, etc) without the woman, but I see its too late...so how did it go?

too late? It's never too late. I have to meet up with them tonight so I still have time to play.

Might be worth it to go in and present a few ideas that range from safe to a little more "out there." Safe would be black and white, objects shot against black - e.g.
But as some of the others suggested I think it's worth it to explore color and may some non traditional approaches which could change the whole feel of the space.

More than likely, you'll show up with several options, right? good.
1. The B/W is classic, classy, stylish, and almost always a winner ( I agree with doesntoexist about the portraits)
2. i like the designs you were playing with, bolder colors and shapes, not straight photography (the water colors, good stuff in my opinion).
3. Its an open space with clean straight lines (a few curves - bulbs, etc) I would consider accentuating the curves in your photography. That could fall under two, but this idea can include simple photography.
so, my 2 cents. Good luck
