Nice peeps in moderation.
They live close to the US border and believe anything Fox News tells them. Keep the conversation to weather, sports, nieces/nephews, and/or oil-changes and everything is fine!

my mother in law thinks she knows just about everything and can at times make my life about more difficult because of that.

all the parents, of my ex's have been good people and I have got on with them very well, shame their offspring have been maniacs.

I have the most awesome in-laws on the plant. Except when my father-in-law drags me out of the apartment when they are visiting us at 6:30am on a Sunday just to ask me what kind of tree happens to be standing there...
"Ah, Mr. Brian..please be telling me [gestures wide open arms at tree] what tree is this?"
"Um, I dunno. Maple?"
"Ah so. Maple tree. This is [points a tree] a Maaaple tree. Hmmm. Very nice."
"Can I go back inside now?"

Last time my in-laws visited us they insisted on finding a ball room dance class they could take for two weeks. So it was off the plane from Tokyo, straight to lower manhattan's chinatown where I found myself negotiating in pidgin english with a chinese dance instructor and my japanese in-laws about prices for lessons.
And my mother-in-law has this super secret power to be able to materialize fresh fruit anywhere at anytime. She's like a fruit super hero...

Father-in-law passed away, he was a funny nice guy, incredibly smart.
Mother-in-law - Stlll here, has had a couple of strokes so she can't talk to well and has a hard time getting around. But she is ok.

My in-laws are great people, though, they are in their 60s and move at about twice the pace of anybody I've ever met. When they came to visit us, they had a whole month to relax, but they really had a hard time not being productive, so they mowed our lawn and started planting gardens...
It's just crazy, they're crazy productive... from Taiwan... and life does move at a much faster pace out there. They can be a bit obsessive, but are also very impressive...
- Hahaha...that's great! You put them to work!

good people. my parents and my in laws live within 10 minutes of each other so we knock out holidays easily. plus when we head home we have a free condo to stay in so we don't have to stay with either parents.
