*moamoa, that's the case with most of graphic design. I'm not doing to get rich.

I know otherwise no one here would be a graphic designer....
not rich is = ok.
for free = is not ok
for small money = is not ok (especially for big SB brands)If you do, you ruin my hourly rate = then I can´t pay my bills, my gf will leave and so on....

Get one of those custom graphic one-offs made up and ride it for the season. The novelty will wear off quickly and then you can focus on getting better paying work in other industries.

Where do you snowboard in England anyway? Do you have to fly to mainland Europe?
- MissB0
I don't snowboard in England because there are no mountains. I fly to mainland Europe to board in the alps.

good luck man. after about a year or so you'll ask yourself why you are at the forefront of cutting edge design (skate, surf, snow) that arguably has influence on all other industiries (fashion, music, etc) and only making 30k a year. oh and you'll be doing everything- web, print, screenprint, coding. while all the marketing kids start at 45k+
I'm not bitter or anything
- 65Neue0
Just like my current job, working for highend / fashion clients, I am at the forefront yet wondering when the payback is? Or like my last job working for music and trendy media companies, working at the forefront yet wondering when the payback is?
- highend fashion? and no payback? wtf they normally pay very well.. hmmmmoamoa
- Really, the photographers do, granted, graphics on the other hand, nope65Neue
- but fulltime? I work mostly for fashion ind. and hmm they pay the best ratesmoamoa
- Whereabouts?MissB
- Hugo Boss, Bogner, Max Mara, Hirmer, Jil Sander, and small smaller companiesmoamoa
- some smallermoamoa

agree with fourthgen.. unless you just really love to shred. a majority of the people that do work within the ASI are satisfied with the free gear, ridiculous amount of industry parties and easy work lifestyle. some would take the paycut for a lifestyle they grew up in.

you're better off approaching a few select companies that you see yourself meshing nice with the current art direction.
start with some of the smaller/mid size companies too.
and don't enter any of those contests.
- Thanks, thats what I was starting to think, just looking now for companies that fit better style-wise!MissB
