hmmm, sounds interesting waht you all saying, I mean at least sounds honest! I do care about culture, music, art a real people. do you reckon that since there is none of that in a quality level, that is a place to make money?

Yeah a mate of mine who was a dj had a bad experience

firend of mine went traveling and worked out there in a school teaching english. he said it was one of the best experiences of his life.
he says the conditions were not great but if your traveling then do you care?he was there for 6 months. now hes a preacher.

Mate of mine lives there. Loves it. He's into the glamourous girls / bars / and can stomach the second rate music scene though.
Not something I'd be too fussed about, London or NY for me.....

why would you want to move to a dessert? Do you know what there laws are like?
- money. no, dont know the laws, but i am not an outlaw, or have intention to be, as long I am allowed to do my regular stuff I am not worried...valentim

Horrible place, I grew up there and I would touch it with a barge pole. Its fine and actually quite if you want a cheap holiday in the sun for a week but otherwise. I wouldn't recommend it. You would be better served picking up some clients out there and working remotely form a more desirable place to live.

"hmmm, sounds interesting waht you all saying, I mean at least sounds honest! I do care about culture, music, art a real people. do you reckon that since there is none of that in a quality level, that is a place to make money?"If you want to make money then it's alright, go for a year, don't worry about the social life (if as you say you like culture, music, art and real people there is nothing there for you), save your money and come back to an interesting place to live when you're happy with your bank balance.
Don't go there and live like normal (it's not cheap to do every day things like enjoy a nice pint after work and for the most part it's not a place to really get great bargains), live quite, work hard and you'll clean up.

I worked out there this year for a couple of months and they'd have to pay me a hell of a lot more to go back to that place.
If you care at all about culture, art, music, interesting social life then it's not the place for you. It's like all the worst bits of the west end of London, all faceless offices, awful chavie bars filled with suited wankers drinking crap over priced cocktails and so on without any of the good parts. No soul to the place.
The place is all about the image it projects to the rest of the world so you have the worlds tallest building going up in front of your eyes while there is next to no public transport or even any decent pavements to walk on.
The worst part of it for me was the local culture of that part of the world has been totally lost to western commercial forces. A good example of this is when I was there I took a desert safari trip - good laugh, bombing about in a jeep up and down sand dunes; but we pulled up to take photos of some camels and I later found out that camels aren't native to that part of the desert and they have been imported because it's what they think tourists want to see in a desert.

Working on a project there right now.
Since the whole UAE is under construction right now, I hope you have no problem with dust and not being able to see the sun but feel it's oppressive heat.

i've got a few friend's in property development working there. they're on a huge amount of money and working 6 days a week. they're enjoying it but mainly as it's setting them and their family up for life.
do some serious research as it's a completely different lifestyle from what most of us are used too.

Last year I really wanted to move to Dubai, it seemed good, well paying jobs, good bonuses,
then I started doing some serious research about it and the more I learned, the more I was appalled,if you really want to go, do it, but if you're moving there because you're running from the truth,
don't
