At first glance does it appear that Men's shirts are sold out? http://www.designgive.com/shop/p…
Getting emails asking when they will be in stock and the men's are in stock. We removed the empty hangar icon because we felt that people were mistaking the shirts above as the sizes and the box below was the availability. Your thoughts?
thanks,
Christopher

Yes it does. I initially thought they were sold out, even though I knew from your post that they weren't.

i couldnt tell. put sold out near the most visually dominant area. (the model w/ shirt probably)

Looks like they are in stock to me, nice design BTW.

I can see where you're coming from - the SOLD OUT comes after all the sizes, and if youre not paying attention it can be interpreted to look like "all these shirts are sold out". Maybe keep the shirt logo with the size on it (XXL im guessing) and then put a sold out graphic overtop/underneath kinda thing...
that way its like "ohh xxl is sold out".
I donno. Im clicky so i was clicking on shirt sizes before i noticed the 'sold out' notice. but once i saw the sold out notice it did make me think that the whole collection might be sold out.

No it does not to me. On another note a lot of your shirt interface is below the fold for me and I'm on a new macbook. Tisk tisk

I would suggest: shrink the masthead, oh, 300% (lol) and if it is sold out put it next to the price point and gray out the call to action.

People think it's sold out because there isn't a buy button.

Hi - No.
Couple of thoughts -
1: There's no visual indicator of stock/sold out on the page upon first load. I'd try making one of the sizes change colour or something or put a "It's Sold Out Fucker!" graphic show up.
2: I'd also agree with the above. At first glance, I thought the drop down and size chart were illustrative and not functional. A heading or something indicating "that's where you buy" would be better.
Hope that helps.
(nice stuff, by the way)

there are so many UI issues w/that page

It's fine. People are idiots.

(possibly not the insightful feedback on e-commerce based design that you were looking for... but at least I'm being honest)- this may or may not be true, but most people dont spend time trying to evaluate a UI either.studderine

For some reason this page leaves me wondering what life is like if I have a website nav attached to my head.

The "people are idiots" thing doesn't jive with UI design.
1) It's true, people are idiots.
2) Are you going to wait for them to not be idiots, or are you going to design your UI so you can sell t-shirts to idiots.

Ok, we have taken off the women's shirts so that will most likey help. People have obviously figured out how to buy shirts, but there are people who not as "web savy".
Thank you for all of your feedback.. it's helped a ton. We truly appreciate it.
thanks,
Christopher
