CS3 printing problem

The new print menu setup on CS3 does not allow me to select various options that were available on CS2 (and still are, I checked on my laptop).
i.e. I cannot select paper type to match colour profiles, or print speed/quality, as before.
I'm using Epson R2400 and all paper is Epson made. It is definitely a problem with the menu.
Anyone know the solution to this?
Cheers

No advanced options? A tab somewhere? Perhaps saving as a PDF and doing it the Acrobat-way?

Update your printer drivers. A real pain in the arse, but it’s the only way.

Well in the second print dialog box (after you click Print..) The regular drop-down menu is still there, only all options concerning Color Management, Print Setting and Paper Configuration etc. are crossed out and unclickable.
This has only happened since upgrading to CS3.
I've tried downloading the latest driver for 10.4.11, restarting etc. and no luck. WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFF?
- Did you get the latest PPD too?MrOneHundred
- without sounding like a pingus, what is that?gjd

Did you Google it? Is it a network printer?

have you uninstalled cs2?

Just regular A3+ Epson. Had perfect prints using CS2, now the new print dialog box on CS3 has screwed it all up.
All menus where you can select Advanced > Speed > Best Quality (slow) etc. are unclickable. Without those you cannot match the paper type and get decent printouts, everything is done fast and in many cases the colours are completely off.
- sounds like you need to setup your printer again but the system handles that not the cs suite?airey

It's a joke if you have to use CS2 for printing

look under the Printer menu in teh Print dialogue

PPDs are Page Printer Descriptions. They are like the instructions that the printer driver uses to tell the printer what options to make available. It appears as a text file, but usually has PPD in the filename. You place it in User>Library>Printers, restart and you’re golden.
Google *printer name and model No.* filetype:txt

Anyone else having problems with this, here is the Epson solution for dumbarses like me:
(the issue is with the printer driver and is apparantly fairly common with CS2 > CS3 upgrading)
-
1) Remove printer from System Pref > Print & Fax
2) Go Library > Printers and delete entire EPSON folder. Go Library > Receipts and delete any Epson folders.
3) Unplug printer USB
4) Restart Mac
5) Download the latest driver from Epson website > Support > Drivers & Software
6) Connect printer and add via System Pref > Print & Fax
7) Drivers should be working**Note** the new printer icon in Print & Fax dialog box should show a printer at an angle (not face on as before) with a multi-coloured piece of paper coming out.
-Props to Epson, they have the most seductive sounding phone technicians in the world.
