I had the same problem, I wrote:
sh disable_activation_osx and got the same answer:
No such file or directory
Does it mater if the file has a suffix i.e. txt?
- lukusW0
you need to make the file executable with chmod

Hi
I did several things in order to activate de cs4 master c. I tought that using the script "disable_activation_osx"will be the final solution, then, after I used it the outcome was "line 7: /etc/hosts: Permission denied
logout
[Process completed]"
I learned it is a permission issue, but how could i tell osx operation system that this script has autorization tu run on my computer?? I just migrate to mac and I am not familiar with Mac osx 10.5.6 or any mac OS. I do not know if the problem is that I got the newest Mac os, because i do not see any "hosts" file.

The file I already have it is executable

you should run the script before installing or running any installation apps, obviously, otherwise it won't work and you have to clean some files, i don't know which
the script does nothing else but to put some lines in the hosts file. the file is locked by default
if you have bbedit, do it manually:
bbedit /private/etc/hosts
add addresses i pasted on the previous page, bbedit will ask you to unlock it
make sure the last line is empty
then save

More info is needed. Is disable_activation_osx a unix binary file? If you know where it is, just open terminal and type in:
sudowith a space afterwards, then drag the disable_activation_osx into the terminal window.
Now it should look something like
sudo /Users/username/Desktop/disable...
if the binary is on your desktop or what ever dir the file is in, it may look different. But, you should understand the general idea. It will then ask for your password. Just type it in (you wont see anything change as you type in your password) and hit enter. If it worked, it will do what ever its ment to, hopefully disable the activation!

((I open terminal and then run:"sudo -s"
Then I get
