Walk down Brick Lane and don't look back. Then go here in Whitechapel, yummy!

tayyabs is indeed very good.
i have lived on brick lane for 2 years, and my fave is preem.

they are all pretty rubbis,h but there are some aweosme Bors style paintings of centaurs and unicorns and a Princess Diana in Cafe Bangla that always makes me chortle
- Well, if she were sitting on a bench alone and looking at the Taj Mahal, it'd be even more poignant...honest

For a nice variation: go up brick lane to bethnal green roard, turn left and try Maida. Definitely good.

Never had a good one their myself...then again never been to 90 percent of them as there are so many. Mostly found them pretty slap dash and often borderline rude...

Yeah Preem is definitely best. It's the cream fronted place.
The way you know it's good ----> they don't try to offer you free stuff or complimentary watered down beer. They're confident enough in their quality

Hmmm, sounds like Preem's in the lead here...

standard balti house has been recommended by my old flat mate, never been though.

This is sandwiched between two curry houses, I do hope they aren't aware of the irony...

Standard is the best i've been to. They also don't offer free shit, which is generally a good sign. But I have not been to Preem.
The best curry i've had was on Berwick st in soho up oxford st end.

I guess it the quality all depends on how pissed you are right?

also.... sounds crap but 'curry capital' is actually pretty good. certainly is the capital of curry in my book.

Curry Capital... its way up Brick Lane, near to the famous 24hr Bagels place... easily the best, they won’t harrass you and the food is amazing.
