Surely if you were looking so shell out that kind of money you would/should be looking at either hiring or buying a red camera. Seems a little over kill for the SLR crowd?

RED doesn't compare in image quality to what you get out of the SLR camera.
The only issue you would have with focusing... focusing ring on still lenses has a very small scale in comparison to cine lenses.

- actually the other way around. Those SLR are better because the grain isn't as pronounecd as on RED.pr2

- RED is rates as ISO320 and even at that setting it's incredibly grainy/noizy while Nikon and Canon even at high...pr2
- ...high ISO setting is relatively noiseless. There is a reason why they are "redesigning" Scarlet.pr2
- A friend shoots a Red 4k and the video looked pretty clean to me man. Is under feature film lighting rigs though.slappy
