It's funny ... no matter what sport it is ... someone has to chime in they don't like it. I know this, because I'm pretty much in every sport thread because I'm one of the weird people who basically like everything, haha.
But not even that they don't like it, but that it's so ludricrous for anyone to ever like it.

I played american football with a 'bloke' foreign exchange student in high school. All of his 'mates' were obsessed with american football.
I'm american and the only sport I like better than american football is 'soccer'.I don't know ANYONE who likes baseball.
It's hardly a sport. No more a sport than golf or billiards. And, way less of a sport than tennis.Baseball is a fat man's sport. There are fat american football players but at least they can run and HAVE to have endurance.
Baseball players make ridiculous amounts of money and yet they're teams have to build amusement parks, water parks, and theatres inside their stadiums to entertain the fans. Surely watching a bunch of greedy retards stand around on the field and job maybe 100 yards total in a game can't entertain all of those fat ass fans.
Baseball takes minimal amounts of strength and endurance (I've seen skinny, weak, fat, strong players all hit home runs) yet the players seem to STILL have performance enhancing drug problems. WTF?

Are you stupid? These guys are pretty damn athletic. Some of the plays I've seen this year left me in awe.
Just try and go to a batting cage and try to hit a fastball at even 70mph. I guarantee you look foolish.

I don't watch baseball like I watch football nowadays but I grew up playing baseball. Played it for 15 years to be exact, from a child to my senior year in high school.
"It's hardly a sport"??? ". Sorry man gotta disagree, they run around bases, not jog. Stealing a base is sprinting.You have to have great hand and eye coordination. More than soccer, more than football. As much coordination as tennis or golf. You need strength to hit home runs. Skinny weak players do not hit home runs. It's like boxing, strength and weight is what creates power and force. You may have 'thought' Ken Griffey Jr was skinny but that dude was D as hell.
Ever throw a baseball? Do you know how hard it is to throw over 90 mph? I always thought I threw fast, but I could barely break 80 throwing a wild uncontrolled throw. MLB pitchers are VERY strong. It takes a lot of torque and strength to throw that fast.
Granted, it's not like American Football which obviously takes all kinds of things but you definitely need to be extremely athletic to play it like the pro's. Soccer, which is an extremely athletic sport, doesn't use any upper body. Golf, which really doesn't use and strength, uses just hand and eye coordination. They're all sports though. And if they weren't a sport and were so easy, you wouldn't be sitting at a desk making posts on some internet forum. You'd be making the big bucks.

Obviously baseball isn't easy or, you're right fyoucher, everyone would be doing it.
Baseball takes a lot of skill, for 2 or 3 things. Hitting, which as you state, not everyone in the 'game' can do well does take some strength. I argue, and I'm sure most players would agree, that it takes more skill that strength. Anyone with enough practice can through a fastball at 90 mph. It takes skill, more than strength, to through it accurately many many times a game.
My point is, that baseball requires a minimum amount of strength (besides power hitters) and absolutely no endurance (besides the pitcher). Baseball is a game of skill. For me this doesn't cut it as an exciting, competitve SPORT. I say the same about golf. Which is why I put baseball in the same category as golf.

In full disclosure, soccer is my favourite sport.
But I'm agreeing with most of what has been said since my post in regards to the ludicrous claims of baseball not being a sport.
... Which is the same claim made in every other sport thread as to why one sport isn't, when another one is.
