Obviously baseball isn't easy or, you're right fyoucher, everyone would be doing it.
Baseball takes a lot of skill, for 2 or 3 things. Hitting, which as you state, not everyone in the 'game' can do well does take some strength. I argue, and I'm sure most players would agree, that it takes more skill that strength. Anyone with enough practice can through a fastball at 90 mph. It takes skill, more than strength, to through it accurately many many times a game.
My point is, that baseball requires a minimum amount of strength (besides power hitters) and absolutely no endurance (besides the pitcher). Baseball is a game of skill. For me this doesn't cut it as an exciting, competitve SPORT. I say the same about golf. Which is why I put baseball in the same category as golf.
