I'm in the process of developing a mark for myself, but I have hit a considerable roadblock; I can't settle on one idea. No idea seems good enough. Does anyone have some examples of designers/studios with really great Marks?

I think logo's are a thing of the past. be honest with yourself - use your name and a nice typeface.

start a trend and have a new logo every week. keep the workmark the same and do something interesting with a visual.
... or do what a lot of other folks do and use some clean typography.
sorry. i don't have any real examples per se. just loads of bs advice.

you should probably take the first letter of your first name and combine it in a unique way with the first letter of your last name

i had a guy tell me, always make your company AAA then what you do (ie. AAA Web Design) so you'll be first in the phone book, and if that's taken go with ABC.
My thought was AAB would be next and nobody uses the phone book.
Oh you said logo? Nah, customize a typeface.
- yep defo, just did yellow pages for a guy hat does this, well smart!mirrorball
- that would be great if this were 15 years ago and people still used phone booksscarabin_net

move, what need to you have to brand yourself with a logo? I'd suggest putting that time, effort and capital into self-promo material if that's what you're needing, or at the very least new business development. Your work should be your calling card - and overall, in my experience, its a word of mouth business usually.

Couple examples of subtly brilliant wordmarks, imho:
