Anyone know a good bag maker or manufacturer in NY?
Don't want to out source it Asia for it.
Hoping to do custom orders in small batches or large.

actually i used to use this manufacturer way back when, their quality is very good. they have 2 locations, 1 in manhattan and 1 in new jersey.

Manolucci Handbags and design. Now without an order for a store your minimum will be extremely high and i can guarantee that the cost of each sample will also be very expensive, so be prepared for that from this manufacturer or any other local and domestic manufacturer.otherwise i say goto a bag convention and find an asian/ chinese/ taiwaneese manufacturer who can accomplish your needs for a much lower cost.

Ok so the bad news I guess is that almost no factories are left in America... I have used www.Manolucci.com in the past and was a very good experience. What I can tell you about them is the samples cost is average not higher than other factories in USA or China as I believe they do both, and the only one to produce in both countries.They do offer a huge assortment of services and the QTY/Minimums are not high, but you would need to discuss this with them for more specifics on your project. I know that you really wont find anyone better than Manolucci in the USA given it is a family owned/operated business who is run by young rather than older men which is usually the case and bad news. Contrary to what Nikki wrote, Manolucci is the most reputable factory in America as many independent and established fashion designers use them, I have seen this with my own eyes when visiting the factory in NJ. They do great work, and are fairly good with delivery compared to other factories in both USA and China. I would say I Highly recommend them, and DO NOT suggest you experiment with China on your own or through Agents until you are big enough to have your own employees based out of China full time as you WILL regret it, every single designer does... Best advice I could give you. Good luck!!
