haven't you just done it?

have you tried playing around with the mitter settings under the stroke panel? not sure it will work, but could be worth checking out.

Want to hear some ways to do it, different ones. I just convert my stroke into a shape ( expand) and cut it manually... I would love if I could maintain my stroke, so I can adjust stroke later...

mask it

cover it with a shape for now

why do you need it as a stroke?
- gentleman0
surely you're not thinking of upping the stroke to make it bolder???

what if you double click on your brush, and instead of a circle, you modify it to be an oval?

so, cover it with a blank shape is a good one for now... then expand when I am happy and then? whats for you the best option to cut it? Use the shape with pathfinder? anything more accurate?

@Meeklo why an Oval? can you explain please?
- an oval rotated, will add a different sizes depending on the angle of the line, kinda like writing with a sharpieMeeklo

any idea / site / article about how is the "way" to digitalize a font? I mean, steps to get all clear, how to manipulate vector, stroke... its common sense to use stroke? or the way is to use shape parts to ensamble the character? would apreciate any help.
Thanks

1. drag a ruler down to choose the line you want to cut off at.
2. select the object and use the 'add point' under the pen tool.
3. using the white select tool (direct selection tool), select the points you wish to delete from the shape and you're done.
- srry, at point 2, add the points you want into the path.airey

If I made a vertical line and set 20pt of stroke, that means you have 10pt wider each side of the line?

sometimes the simplest things are the most complicated to find out
