Peanut Soup — the recipe is in one of the Moosewood cookbooks. Totally amazing soup.
It's peanuts, sweet potatoes, tomato, and some curry. Very unique flavour.- there is one in how it all vegan (cookbook) for thai peanut soup that is the best i've ever had.rka

Lentils with beef sounds great. Pho looks promising as well, but I'm not sure about rare meat ;]
- BY the time you add some hoisin sause and get your bean sprouts in there, it's past medium rare.********

The thicker the better, to absorb the impact, I guess. The flavour and ingredients are largely irrelevant - but I guess you'd not want a hot one, otherwise you'll risk getting scolded.
So, a gazpacho? Not the white one though - those almonds can get a bit sharp,, if they've been added on as a decoration afterwards.
Need to be a damn big bowl too...

I always enjoy a good hearty beef stew, with lots of root veggies, a few generous splashes of bourbon or red wine, slow cooked on low low heat all day long. Wood stove works best. Love fall cooking!

There can be only one soup for the colder months - French onion soup, with loads of grated'n'grilled gruyere on well-seasoned homemade croutons.
FUCK YEAH.

I have a book with a native pumpkin corn soup. Basically it's corn, canned or pureed pumpkin and chicken broth.
Indian Dal is awesome when it gets cold out.
