I wasnt after the run of the mill stuff above,but cheers anyway. Despite belonging to massive brands, and in most respects working very well visually, most of the above makes me want to vomit,

I think wamu did a great job with their branding, they tried to appeal to younger crowds, free checking (to attract new customers, and motivate bank switching), humour in tv spots, modern version of their logo (most banks have a traditional feel) they re-designed all their bank interiors, breaking the stereotype of the usual bank, with a central circular desk.
Yeah you might not like how it looks, but they set themselves to reach an audience and they did an amazing job at it.
