"I had it in my hands for less than 72 hours before I had to send it back - but the time I did have with a prototype of the Canon EOS 5D MKII will possibly change the path of my career as well as the photography industry to some degree."
Probably the most amazing thing I've seen to come out of DSLR in a long, long time.

I'm not one for creating wish lists, but this rig has definitely changed that...

i like how he claimed he's knows nothing about filmmaking at first and all the sudden he calls himself director of photography only cause he shot a little test... haha!
- Funny you're one of few people who have experience and accomplishments in this very field Patrykrafalski

My desire for my Dad’s old 350D has been somewhat superseded.

that is truly amazing considering it's a DSLR. one thing to note there is all the different lenses he uses - lots of L series... which is all you'd want to be shooting on that cam anyway of course...

$2700 msrp is about $2200 street price half a year into production, correct me if I'm wrong.
It's like €1500 (new, US imported), that is ridiculously cheap compared to its predecessor. I am sure upgrading mine, if only for the jaw-dropping ISO that begins to make image stabilization obsolete.- aforementioned jaw-dropping ISO shots: http://www.dpreview.…rafalski

Ive been convincing myself over the last few days that I need this camera. And I have now as long as I can get one from the US where the price isnt extortionate.
I have had a 17-40L on a 350D for the last 2.5 years and cant help but dream of what it could do on a full frame, not no mention video beast like this.- just calculated this morning, that it's cheaper to fly to JFK/New York from Edinburgh for a 5D than buy one from the UK.4hero

Wow. That shot is iso2000 and I can barely detect any noise. Must be awesome.

Doorman, it's not a camcorder. It is a still camera with a free bonus camcorder capability. There are two amazing things about the camcorder part as I understand:
- you can use your EF lenses with it without the huge 7.8 crop factor video camera would have.
- low light video capability is exceptional
