Are you telling that film was shot with a camera?

MrDinky, here is what it says at the end of his blog.
*YOU MAY LINK TO THIS SITE - BUT YOU MAY NOT REPUBLISH ANY OF THESE IMAGES IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM IN ANY OTHER MEDIA WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN PERMISSION. GIVEN THAT THESE WERE SHOT WITH A PROTOTYPE CAMERA - I HAD TO DO A LOT TO OF MANEUVERING TO GET THESE OUT TO THE PUBLIC, WITH CANON. PLEASE DO NOT HELP THIS COME BACK TO HAUNT ME (AND POSSIBLY YOU AND/OR YOUR ORGANIZATION) BY STEALING THESE IMAGES AND/OR VIDEO WITHOUT PRIOR PERMISSION FROM BOTH CANON AND LAFORET VISUALS INC. IN WRITING.

I think what makes this so appealing is that the money myself and others have put into SLR lens's can now be used for very creative video shooting.
I wanna see more tests of panning the camera as the rolling shutter sux in the D70, check this: http://s477.photobucket.com/albu…

the video is now up at his blog. pretty superior quality, but realize dude was shooting with an array of gear that costs 500x the camera, along with a professional film crew. the most impressive thing to me is the lack of grain at 1600 and 3200 iso.
i don't know, i think video on SLRs is a pretty stupid thing overall. let's keep people great at certain things instead of meddling in mediocrity with a different field because it can sell better. doesn't make much sense but i'm sure the people that get rich off it don't care.

"perform better than many $100K plus video cameras out there"
come on, let's not overstate things.
Yes, in many ways, the opticals rival or beat many very expensive cameras out there . . .
BUT
it shoots compressed only, it doesnt really cover 'sound' so much, it has a very limited amount of storage available, there is no autofocus available, you cannot pain quickly with it without massive distortion.Yes, it is a great feature, and yes it is a step in the direction that everyone is headed - DSLRs and film cameras will have some major overlap in the near future.
RED is making a DSLR that also shoots HD video . . . they'll announce it before the end of the year.

heh, that's a nice feature--but nobody, no actors, no production crews, no lighting guys, no producers, nobody is gonna take you serious if you walk on the set to shoot ANY type of video with a DSLR. And no, it doesn't perform better than 100k cameras, not even 5k cameras. It's compressed and limited video -- let's not even get into it's audio limitations (that's why there is not sync audio)....
Don't buy this camera because of this demo video.

Grab the few “camel toe” frames while you are at it.
