Thanks for the great crit everyone. I'm warming up to the idea of the sans choice for the logo now. I'm liking Frutiger, which I already use on my the public site. Other choices might be Officina Sans, and perhaps Trade Gothic.
Knocked together some quickies with a small mark I'm trying to develop. The mark is a very simplistic representation of the flourishes found on dollar bills. It kind of has a leafy look to it I'm not completely satisfied with, but I'll work on that some more later.

What everyone else said. I would move away from Trajan. Alternatives for a bank-like look, also all have beautiful small caps:
Mercury (Text or Display would work for logotype, bear in mind Display might need subtle fattening for clarity at small size)

On the new ones: the container isn't working, I'f ditch that and use your first black & green one.
What's the concept behind the feathery leaf thingy? Looks like it's been done before.
I would either subtly widen the letters or use a sans that is naturally wider like Gotham. Right now they look pinched.
TheSans would also work very well, though I have found in my experience that it wants very very subtle widening for logotypes.

make the "d" into an inkwell and have the feather pen coming out of it to form the upper part of the "d". Done and you can take that the bank er um casboard
