I got D700. i am scared of it

The XTi is just perfect for my hands. It's almost big.
I don't really think about buying warranty for cameras though.

I would get a warranty. I think you get a year from Nikon anyways but always good to have accidental damage. It looks a beast! Am v.jealous!

any good warrant any one suggest? or should i just get the one from the store.

It depends. Your profile says you're in NY, so if you had a problem and needed to send it to Nikon, it would go to Long Island. It already comes with a limited warranty against defects, but beyond that a retailer warranty or something like SquareTrade would be ideal...
- I have SquareTrade on my phone, but never had problems so I haven't tested them.ismith

I just got the one from the store, sure they're pretty much the same all over, standard package I would reckon.
What lens did you get?

SquareTrade seems interseting, have you used?

i am thinking about getting nikon 24-70mm 2.8 so i rented it for the weekend.
I bought nikon 85mm 1.4 and 35mm 2.0 with the camera.
i am thinking if i get 24-70. i may return the primes. but 24-70 is too heavy and long for walk around lens

also, they are coming out with new 50mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.4 in few weeks, so i just may return it regardless.
- old ones are supposedly pretty decent as wellbolus
- i never shot a digital photo in my life thoughbolus
- oh yeah, I have the 50mm 1.4 and it's a beauty! and if the wallet can stretch to it I would go get the 105mm macro.scribbler
- sigma's new 50mm is supposed to be pretty nice, a little better wide open than nikon's. where did you read they were updating?Chief
- sikma0
repairs are very expensive.

i did a few years ago, for my slr... paid 50 euros a year and a week before the final month was over I dropped it, got a new lense, no costs whatsoever
might be worth it

I've got a few lenses and I've decided that I'm no longer buying anything above a f2.8. I've got a couple of f4's and I wish I'd just paid the extra £500 or so and gone for the f2.8.

I dropped my 20D from about five feet, and you'd never know it.

i guess $300 is worth it considering its $100 a year. But i should really read in to it since not sure whats REALLY covered
