it seems that most of the designers who fancy themselves photographers obsess over their equipment rather then spend their time taking actual photos. what gives. if I see another dslr thread I will be very displeased.

being a photographer, it's pretty weird that people obsess over the gear. if there is anything I obsess over, it's quality of light . briese. octa's, hexa's, HMI's. wall-o-light's. stuff like that. that's where the love happens.

I think asking others peoples opinions before dropping several thousand dollars on gear is a pretty good idea. Once you have what you need, forget about the toys and work on the craft. Don't worry about the newer camera that will be released 6 months after you buy yours. It's like any technology, it's obsolete as soon as you buy it.
