so, cnaps, you are very vocal about what you DON'T like. How about what you would like? What's your vision for this country? A decade or two down the road, in cnaps's utopian America, what's going on? In your own words, rather than links and pics, if you please.
- Good luck with that... He only knows how to cut & paste. That is a miracle within itself.utopian

A unionized public employee, a member of the Tea Party, and a CEO are sitting at a table. In the middle of the table there is a plate with a dozen cookies on it. The CEO reaches across and takes 11 cookies looks at the tea partier and says,"look out for that union guy, he wants a piece of your cookie.
- you forgot where the senators and reps sit at the table. and union ceo.********

Incidentally, i'm not proposing this as some sort set up for a gotcha session or whatever. i'm genuinely curious about what someone who so often speaks negatively of what others are doing (or want to do) would do if they had their druthers.
i sincerely hope you take the opportunity

It's funny how people talk endlessly about America not being the police of the world and spending less on foreign aid. Even conservatives have rediscovered this viewpoint thanks to Ron Paul and the failure of the neocon ideology.
But then when there's a crisis somewhere, this paper blames the President for not doing more. I guess we should be spending more money and maybe sending troops into Libya just like Iraq, yeah that sounds like a genius idea.
- locustsloth0
Not to nitpick, cnaps, but "i want a fucking better president" is still defining what you want as a negative of what is. What would this "better president" be doing? Not in relation to what Obama is doing now. For example, what would his policy on immigration be and how do you see that effecting Americans? Or abortion? What are the state of social or entitlement programs under his presidency? Gun control?
Or if that's too abstract, what do you picture a day in the life of your 'perfect' country would be like? What i'm trying to do is understand your actual values rather than compiling a list of "shit cnaps hates"
- How would things be different and how would your ideal president make them that way?locustsloth

"A unionized public employee, an ill-informed citizen, and a CEO are sitting at a table. In the middle of the table is a plate with a dozen cookies on it. - the ceo couldnt take the cookies unless a politician let him. politcians are the gatekeepers********
- its more like a plate of cookies a senator has. and asks tell me how i benefit by giving you these cookies which arent mine********
- public unions control a lot of votes, more then big biz. big biz has more money. money vs votes is hwo it usually goes********

It seems like the admin is playing their cards close to their chests. And i can't say that i blame them. As many like to point out, there is strong resentment toward the west in N Africa and the Middle East. An overbearing response would be met with cries of meddling and nation building and so on. The popular movement may very well rail against any ideals put forth by the US plainly because they were put forth by the US. These people want to build it themselves. Maybe the admin is giving them the space to do that.
- which is good. we should let them. the negative is it effects us and ppl could lose job if it effects us negatively********

- yes political philosophy has a lot fo what ifs. but understanding the other side is so important. how else can u find a balance********

- id like politicans to explain both sides. this is what we want to achieve at this cost. instead of selling only their side********
- but that would be less entertaining and make people have to think. the team stuff comes from that. one side stating only positives, the other negatives********
- spitting only the small percentage positives and other team spitting the sm % negatives********
