i'm definitely not defending the wackjob tea rally, however the sanity rally was a bunch of dimwit douchebags with HUGE egos.. i consider them just as wackjob as any other mass of political followers.. this country watches too much TV.. on both sides of the spectrum it is mass extremism.. just sayin'

tea partiers are way nuttier... it's not equal
- TheBlueOne0
I mean it cracks me up, this "tea party" thing. It's just a name change. No one in that conglomeration of asshats is an "independent". They were all the looney crazy rump of the Republican party who thought Dick Cheney was too soft and not delusional enough. Somehow they fabricate this whole "new party" thing while their ideas for policy are absolutely no different than the far right has been saying for decades now. No taxes! More for whitey! Nothing for them black and brown welfare queens with thar cadillacs! And get big government off the backs of corporations with them fancy regulations because somehow with some magic voodoo that will help us whiteys! We're not sure how, but some rich fella on ma tv said so, and I believe him!
How is this anything new in American politics? It's just the unthinking fringe authoritarians that were always part of the Republican party. It's a terrific snowjob, and the great part is that this fictional fabrication of a party loves to point out that Obama is a fake. It's fuckign brilliant if it wasn't so sad and stupid...

^ "Sad and Stupid", say you?
Except for the fact the Tea Party is one of the biggest reasons that the Democrats lost the House, a number of important Senate seats and big number of gubernatorials.
And look at those new unemployment numbers Mr. President: http://www.bls.gov/news.release/…
Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rate for adult men (9.7 percent), adult women (8.1 percent), teenagers (27.1 percent), whites (8.8 percent), blacks (15.7 percent), and Hispanics (12.6 percent) showed little change in October. The jobless rate for Asians was 7.1 percent, not seasonally adjusted.
And you wonder why a large number of youth voted for Republicans, this time around. They do not having fucking jobs!

Flight school students arrested
Concerns raised on antiterror net; 34 immigrants allegedly illegal
http://www.boston.com/news/local…Federal officials have arrested dozens of alleged illegal immigrants connected to a flight school in Stow, including the school’s owner and students who received US government clearance to train as pilots despite strict security controls put into place after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Memo to White House: Lawyer up
Obama's White House isn't ready for the level of scrutiny it's about to receive, veteran Dems say.http://www.politico.com/news/sto…
Veterans of the contentious battles of the Clinton administration warn that the Obama White House is entirely unprepared for the level of scrutiny it is about to experience. “They’ve already been complaining that they’re beleaguered by Congress,” said one veteran Democratic strategist. “I don’t think [White House aides] have the slightest idea what they’re facing.”

Could someone explain why US politicians talk about cutting the budget, deficit spending, privatizing social security, but no one really talks about reducing defense spending. Is it because of the "wars/economic colonization" of Iraq and Afghanistan? Or is it because no politician has the balls to stand up and say something.

This is such a textbook example of how talk show hosts basically brainwash their viewers. Imagine you know nothing about net neutrality, you would actually think it was the government trying to kill free speech on the internet instead of the opposite.
I think this issue kind of pushed the envelope on how far Beck could mislead his audience though, cause I've heard quite a few people on the right say they don't buy this shit and actually support net neutrality. But it creates just enough uncertainty that the corporatist lobbyists in Washington can get their way.
- ukit0
Longer unedited example
Keep in mind, net neutrality has absolutely nothing to do with:
-Entitlement programs
-Free access to the internet
-The Fairness Doctrine
-CommunismIt's ONLY the concept that internet traffic should be treated the same (neutrally). Did you hear Beck say that a single time?
Wikipedia:
"At its simplest, network neutrality is the principle that all Internet traffic should be treated equally."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net…
The most laughable part is that his buddy there, the "Americans for Prosperity" guy, obviously deals with these issues everyday since he's basically a lobbyist for the telecom industry. So you've got the representative of the Republican wing of the government (Beck) and the representative from Comcast and Verizon lying through their teeth in order to "educate" you on something.
You have to hand it to Beck though, for someone who talks endlessly about Hitler and Mao he's actually pretty good at the propaganda thing himself.
- ukit0
The funny thing, people use this thread to post gifs and yell at each other 90% of the time, well here's an actual issue that will have huge implications for the web industry.
Just in case you thought this was some isolated idea of Glenn Beck's, Republicans in Congress:
Notice he frames it exactly the way Beck does.
"It's not about keeping the internet neutral it's about government control. Under net neutrality, the government actually rations what people can use."
Anyone who knows anything about the issue or works in the tech industry will tell you this is complete and utter BS. It's only government intrusion in the sense that the First Amendment is government intrusion. And there's no rationing involved at all. But that's the pretense they are going to use to hand Comcast and other ISPs the power to regulate traffic however they see fit, with no oversight.

It took two years...but we finally got that "Hope and Change" we were promised!!!!!!
- ukit0
Cmon cnaps, I was hoping to hear you weigh in on net neutrality.
Is it a government takeover like Glenn Beck says or not?
- ********0
I do not really listen to glen beck, watch glen beck or give a shit about any of his nonsense.
Honestly when I see the , becks and hannitys and the orielys on tv, it's easy to see why liberals hate republicans.
If there not crying about socialism there selling a book or a pen.
