"The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy (1855-1931), a Baptist minister, a Christian socialist, and the cousin of socialist utopian novelist Edward Bellamy (1850-1898)."

America's Socialists: We do great things. Like rescue the country form the great depression, give women the right to vote..oh and wrote the Pledge of Allegiance that you use SumWork,

Or will you refuse to say it now that you know one of them "librul socialist gay fuckers" wrote the pledge?

I'm curious JazX, as to what was so intriguing for to post this:

"Failures in government security blame the Internet, not Muslims, for attacks.
    http://thehill.com/blogs/hillico…...

"Enabled by 21st-century technology, extremists have optimized the use of Internet chat rooms, Web sites and e-mail chains to spread their virulent messages and reach a global audience of potential recruits," Reid told the Senate Armed Services Committee"

First off, it seems that you are saying in a blanket statement that islam=terrorist, and then secondly, mocking the very serious observation about the role of technology and information systems in warfare.

I see you quote Harry Reid there I guess trying to troll out some sort of "ah hahah look at the dumb libruls blaming internets" or whatever, however the concept in question did not begin with COngress, but rather the Pentagon:

    http://www.crunchgear.com/2010/0…

You know, the very serious people that you rightwing dickheads all want to fellate at every opportunity? You know, the guys you think that "libruls" can't be?

So, yeah. This is typical QBN rightwing dickhead troll shit. Ignorance of reality or issues (All terrorists must be muslim) and misconstruing real world arguments (ahaha look at Silly Reid blaming the interwebs for terrorism!) when in fact this area of study is soething very seriously studied by the military - have a cousin at West Point doing a few papers on it.

So yeah, go ahead and make fun of how the real world perates, and how people who actually do real shit in the world do thing.

Maybe you and SumWork should go design some gay cafe somewhere and leave the big thinking and doing to people who live in reality and have a bigger interest in the issues than how big they think it makes their dick look.

You're a straight up ignorant racist cock monkey. I've heard people on here defend you, say "Ah, JazX is a great guy in person!"

I find that really difficult to believe. Either you really believe the shit you spew, or your a douchebag to the fucking bone. WHich is it?

    • Up and above any of this, the guy is a fucking liar that has been busted time and time again.DrBombay

Outstanding article by Conservative columnist, David Brooks.

    "Getting Obama Right"
    by David Brooks
    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/1…

"In a sensible country, people would see Obama as a president trying to define a modern brand of moderate progressivism. In a sensible country, Obama would be able to clearly define this project without fear of offending the people he needs to get legislation passed. But we don’t live in that country. We live in a country in which many people live in information cocoons in which they only talk to members of their own party and read blogs of their own sect. They come away with perceptions fundamentally at odds with reality, fundamentally misunderstanding the man in the Oval Office."

Couldn't resist posting it here for some reason.

    • Of course, Brooks is just a schill for the Main Stream Media, so what does he know...right?luckyorphan

While we're on the topic of saluting the flag, how bout a history lesson:

    Two words: Bellamy Salute.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bel…

The inventor of the saluting gesture was James B. Upham, junior partner and editor of the The Youth's Companion. Bellamy recalled Upham, upon reading the pledge, came into the posture of the salute, snapped his heels together, and said "Now up there is the flag; I come to salute; as I say 'I pledge allegiance to my flag,' I stretch out my right hand and keep it raised while I say the stirring words that follow."

In the 1920s, Italian fascists adopted the Roman salute to symbolize their claim to have revitalized Italy on the model of ancient Rome. This was quickly copied by the German Nazis, creating the Nazi salute.

"Most Americans want health care reform"
    by Joe Benenson
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp…

"In light of this data, it is irresponsible, and wrong, for Schoen and Caddell to assert that a "solid majority of Americans oppose" health-care reform."

"In fact, two recent polls, including one with the most negative ratings on health care, reveal through follow-up questions that a significant number of people who oppose current plans do so because they don't go far enough rather than because they go too far. Not only is it absurd to suggest that these people would rise up against Democrats for passing the president's plan, it is far more likely that they would join others who support the plan and punish those who tried to block reform or voted against it."

"F.C.C. Plan to Widen Internet Access in U.S. Sets Up Battle"
    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/1…

"The plan envisions a fully Web-connected world with split-second access to health care information and online classrooms, delivered through wireless devices yet to be dreamed up in Silicon Valley. But to get there, analysts say the F.C.C. must tread carefully with companies like Comcast and AT&T that largely control Internet pricing and speeds. Already, there are questions about the extent to which the F.C.C. has jurisdiction over Internet providers."

New Fraud Cases Point to Lapses in Iraq Projects:
    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/1…

"There have already been dozens of indictments and convictions for corruption since the 2003 invasion of Iraq. But the new cases seem to confirm what investigators have long speculated: that the chaos, weak oversight and wide use of cash payments in the reconstruction program in Iraq allowed many more Americans who took bribes or stole money to get off scot-free."

"Developed in the Treasury Department, the financial monitoring effort goes by the generic name of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or Fincen, which continually generates data on suspicious financial transactions in support of more than 275 federal and state law enforcement agencies, according to a December report by the Government Accountability Office.

Stephen Hudak, a spokesman at the Treasury Department for Fincen, said it generated 15 million to 16 million reports a year on suspicious financial activity or major currency transactions, including cash deposits of more than $10,000. He said that transactions in banks, check-cashing outlets, wire services, casinos, stockbrokers’ offices and insurance companies were covered."

The New Rove-Cheney Assault on Reality
    by Frank Rich
    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/1…

Karl Rove today on my TV: "No, no. Tom with all due respect that was not the policy of our government that we were going to go into Iraq and take their resources in order to pay for the cost of the war. ... [T]he suggestion that somehow or another the administration had as its policy, “We’re going to go in to Iraq and take their resource and pay for the war” is not accurate."

    Uh huh. I see.

Let's jump in the wayback machine. Set to 2004:

"Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz told a congressional panel that Iraqi oil revenues would help pay for reconstructing the country, i.e. a cost of the war. “The oil revenue of that country could bring between 50 and 100 billion dollars over the course of the next two or three years. We’re dealing with a country that could really finance its own reconstruction, and relatively soon,” he said.

One month before the war, then-White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said Iraq “is a rather wealthy country. ... And so there are a variety of means that Iraq has to be able to shoulder much of the burden for their own reconstruction.”

Meanwhile the tea party morons want to hand the country back to these lying scumbags,

    Fuck a rake.

X : So what do you do in your spare time?

Y : I tell people who argue about politics in an obscure design forum that they'll never accomplish anything. I don't take the time to read anything they right so I don't really know if anyone never proves a point and I just simplify everything down to the idea that they're just arguing Right vs. Left and thus never have to worry if they're really saying anything substantial that might upset my dumbed down consumer lifestyle. Frankly I like to be smug and not challenged.
