mathinc is quoted asking Mimio:
"Timothy Mcveigh? I mean come on, BonSeff wants to put McVeigh in the Tea Bagger camp?!"
In this exhaustive article in the NY Times, they give several examples of militia groups and their sympathizers being a not insignificant part of the many Tea Party groups.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/1…
"These people are part of a significant undercurrent within the Tea Party movement that has less in common with the Republican Party than with the Patriot movement, a brand of politics historically associated with libertarians, militia groups, anti-immigration advocates and those who argue for the abolition of the Federal Reserve."
Yes, there are many peaceful people who would never do anything, but as we saw with Oklahoma City, all it takes is a couple of nuts. And it is all to easy to hear words of treason, war and violence among the crowds – even those not aligned with militia groups.
"Mrs. Stout [President of Sandpoint Tea Party Patriots, and a very active Tea Party member] said she has begun to contemplate the possibility of “another civil war.” It is her deepest fear, she said. Yet she believes the stakes are that high. Basic freedoms are threatened, she said. Economic collapse, food shortages and civil unrest all seem imminent.
“I don’t see us being the ones to start it, but I would give up my life for my country,” Mrs. Stout said.
She paused, considering her next words.
“Peaceful means,” she continued, “are the best way of going about it. But sometimes you are not given a choice."
Words often lead to actions, T.
- There are many more examples out there.luckyorphan

i want to do a documentary on these hillbillies preparing their protest signs.
Like a ride along to wal-mart to get posterboard and crayons, then watch them as they spell good..

^^ Whoa back up.
Dobs (DrBombay) : 'What is the diff between this guy and the tea baggers?'
My reply: 'A: No teabag people have flown planes into buildings that I know of?'
Mimio: ' "A: No teabag people have flown planes into buildings that I know of?"
uuummm,
timothy mcveigh? 'Look I get what you guys are grasping at I just don't agree. The guy who flew his plane into the IRS building was not a Tea Bagger. Timothy McVeigh was not a Tea Bagger. I get that they all three share in a distaste for government and I'm not disagreeing that there are most likely radicalized people in the Tea Party. However, a common trait doesn't make them the same. First of all, as far as I know there hasn't been any violence involved with the Tea Party folks. So exactly how is this guy like the Tea Bagger?
Look I don't want to come off like I support this Tea Baggery, because I don't. I liked the message when it began but it seems to have become a twisted mess of Republicanism/Christianity and some sort of romanticized view of the 'old days.'
The problem I have is that some of you are so quick to make these people out to be extremists when absolutely nothing violent has ever taken place with the Tea Bag people, yet. I thought you lot were against preemptive action? ;)
- So threatening a violent revolution isn't the same ideology?Mimio
- How do you know McVeigh was not a teabagger?monkeyshine
- Well first of all 'Tea Bagger' is 2 years old or something. How do you know that I'm not Paul Revere?mathinc
- BonSeff0
He flew a plane into a fucking IRS building! He out-teabagged the original Boston Tea Party protest.. you do realize that the boston tea party's no taxation without representation is the underlying theme of the tea party movement - or at least the one they are gravytraining.. with is ironic since most everyone of those necks are getting tax cuts..
jesus.
- sigg0
Does the Tea Bagger party fully understand what Tea Bagging is? Like, if they did a google search for "Tea Bagger" and looked at the images that came up (safe search off) would they really want to be associated with that? The irony is fall down funny.
- haha I agree.. they obviously should have consulted a PR firm.. or any 18 year old for that matter.mathinc
- mathinc0
Tea Bag = Didn't do anything violent
Dude who flew a plane into IRS building = Did do something violentThey're united only by the anger they have for the same gov dept.
Using your own line of thinking then the retards who think that all arabs who dislike America are terrorists.
- Not yet anyway...
3, 2, 1...utopian - what about the guy who shot a Dr at an abortion clinic? He wasn't a teabagger either?monkeyshine
- Are you being serious?mathinc

http://thinkprogress.org/2010/02…Utah State Sen. Mark Madsen (R) is introducing legislation to create a holiday honoring John Moses Browning — the Utah native and “gun pioneer” who founded the Browning Arms company — on the same day as Martin Luther King Day.

This guy may not be an actual tea bagger but from reading comments on Redstate and FoxNation many of those freakazoids agree with his sentiment. So you can argue all day whether he was or wasn't a teabagger but there was violence today towards the federal government and a lot of teabaggers agree with it.
How does one become a member of the tea party anyway? It isn't an actual political party. It is a loosely organized group of people that hate the federal government now that it is controlled by Democrats.
