SumWurk posted a pic of his crew in camo in a failed, pathetic attempt to apparently instill fear in...someone. Fred has had a few tirades in which he referred to the president as a whore. ukit and utopian have responded with a few drive-bys of their own. subommandante and 762mm have kept everyone guessing with their passionate, international and independent (though often accurate) views, and almost no one gives any ground or suggests that they agree with the fact that life is actually more complicated than we'd all like it to be.
Me, I'm still trying to be a bit of a camp counselor in here, but I'm afraid it's gotten all Lord of the Flies on me. Then again, I do tilt to the left a bit, so I'm sure I'm not helping. I celebrated the end of Don't Ask Don't Tell, and posted a few interesting articles about the alleged intent of our Founding Fathers to make this a Christian nation...all without much response. It seems that when I post analysis and thinking, it gets ignored. But a bumper sticker or a YouTube clip, and that gets flamed.
Otherwise, you haven't missed much. Though I sure miss having another grown-up around.

Greece faced increased pressure Tuesday over its use of complex financial instruments to mask its rising debt, with European officials demanding detailed explanations by the end of the week and saying they could extend their inquiry to other countries.
Greece also faces legal proceedings brought by the European Commission, the E.U. executive, over flaws in its statistical reporting.
The use of complicated derivative swaps by Greece to mask its deficit was not reported to E.U. authorities or to the European Union statistical agency, Eurostat.
“Eurostat made a methodological visit to Greece on 15-19 September 2008,” said Amadeu Altafaj, spokesman for Mr. Rehn. “At the time the Greek authorities confirmed that, by law, government units could not enter into fictitious derivatives transactions.”
On Monday the Greek finance minister, George Papaconstantinou, said that such swaps were legal when Greece used them. He added that they were no longer being used.

I never fully understood how some people took this woman serious. And apparently, some still are. Don't they know why she was picked by McBoob as a running mate. It was to pull the wool over other peoples eyes, but his staff was so incompetent to run a vetting process, that they ended up with a complete moron. And yet this mental midget still marches on with dreams of the oval office. You can't make up stuff better than this. Also it's shocking how people actually support her and don't look deeper into their party for candidates that actually have the proper experience. Let's face it, she isn't qualified to manage a Wal•Mart. If you believe in Palin, you are too far gone to be saved.
