What a fuckknuckle that Palin is..."How's that hopey changey stuff workin' out for ya?"
A damn site better than if she was VP I'm guessing.
Seriously, are there that many DUMB Americans that actually think she would be a good President? Surely not...

Queens pols stiffed Katrina victims
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/nat…Devastated Hurricane Katrina survivors from New Orleans were left high and dry by a charity set up to help them by state Sen. Malcolm Smith and Rep. Gregory Meeks of Queens.
Only $1,392 of at least $31,000 raised to help Katrina families was paid, tax records show, and just about everybody involved with the charity -- including the two Democratic pols -- claim ignorance as to where the rest of the money went.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is putting forward a very daring proposal for how to fix Social Security and Medicare, Think Progress reports: Get rid of them.
Bachmann spoke this past weekend at the right-wing Constitutional Coalition in St. Louis, Missouri, and put forth her plan. "So, what you have to do, is keep faith with the people that are already in the system, that don't have any other options, we have to keep faith with them. But basically what we have to do is wean everybody else off," said Bachmann. "And wean everybody off because we have to take those unfunded net liabilities off our bank sheet, we can't do it. So we just have to be straight with people. So basically, whoever our nominee is, is going to have to have a Glenn Beck chalkboard and explain to everybody this is the way it is."
It certainly is interesting to see a Republican not talk in any euphemistic terms about personal accounts, or about saving the system, etc., but to openly admit that the goal is to no longer provide the social benefits themselves, and to transition away from them.
Currently, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) has presented an alternative budget roadmap that would privatize Social Security and Medicare, replacing the latter with private vouchers. So far, nine Republicans including Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD), Rep. Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) have signed on to co-sponsor Ryan's budget roadmap. Bachmann is not a co-sponsor of the Ryan plan -- she in fact goes much further, by apparently wanting to abolish the program entirely.
- Ain't going to get a lot of votes going that route.DrBombay

I'm pulling for Obama, Palin, and then Jesse Ventura running third party. Think how entertaining the debates would be.

Choi graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2003 with degrees in Arabic and environmental engineering. Choi served as an infantry officer in Iraq in 2006 and 2007.
In June 2008, he transferred from active duty Army to the New York National Guard. Choi serves as a National Guardsman with the 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry, based in Manhattan. Choi received a discharge letter following his coming out on the The Rachel Maddow Show.
Choi is among 59 gay Arabic linguists, along with 9 gay Farsi linguists, who have faced a discharge from the U.S. military from Don't Ask Don't Tell's inception until June 2009.

Europe Risks Another Global Depression
The entirely pointless G7 meeting this weekend only served to underline the fact that Europe is again entering a serious economic crisis.
At the end of the meeting yesterday, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner told reporters, “I just want to underscore they made it clear to us, they the European authorities, that they will manage this [the Greek debt crisis] with great care.”
But the Europeans are not being careful – and it’s not just about Greece any more. Worries about government debt and associated public sector liabilities (e.g., because banking systems are in deep trouble) have spread through the eurozone to Spain and Portugal. Ireland and Italy are next up for hostile reconsideration by the markets, and the UK may not be far behind.
What are the stronger European countries, specifically Germany and France, doing to contain the self-fulfilling fear that weaker eurozone countries may not be able to pay their debt – this panic that pushes up interest rates and makes it harder for beleaguered governments to actually pay?
The Europeans with deep-pockets are doing nothing – except insist that all countries under pressure cut their budgets quickly and in ways that are probably politically infeasible. This kind of precipitate fiscal austerity contributed directly to the onset of the Great Depression in the 1930s.
