he Arlington Independent School District in Texas decided not to show President Obama’s address to students live yesterday because it reportedly didn’t want to interrupt its regularly scheduled lesson plans. However, the district has now decided to bus its students off-campus on Sept. 21 to hear President Bush speak:
"District officials said it’s part of a Cowboys Stadium field trip that the North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee invited 28 fifth-grade classes to attend several months ago.
In addition to hearing from Bush and former first lady Laura Bush, the students will hear from legendary Dallas Cowboys players and North Texas business and community leaders. The event launches the Super Bowl committee’s largest-ever youth education program."

People on the far right can never tell us what they would do to improve health care. I guess for them its just right.
I had a conversation about health care reform with my step dad and his family who are all basically racist. His sister has so much disdain for Obama. She is all "I don't want my country to be all communist like Russia or China" and I said "well what about Canada and France who provide health care for all their citizens." and she looked at me all bewildered like and said "France, pfffft!!!"
So I said "It will help people who earn low wages who cant afford the high cost of insurance" then I said "well let me ask you, who is your provider and is it costly?" she replies with ... are you ready?
"I don't have insurance .. I cant afford it."
I could tell her husband was getting a bit agitated.
She says to me "Obama is the worst thing to happen to this country"
So I say "And you are telling me that George Bush was a good thing?" .. Her husband stood up and they both left the room.

Projected budgets, deficeits and surpluses are just that - projected. While they have some limited uses, they are poor reasons to make cases for radical shifts in action.
Like a boxing match or a battle, all plans go out the window at the first strike. I can pull out some charts from the beginning of the Bush administration which predicted great gains thanks to tax cuts. Didn't happen. I can show charts form the Clinoton era that showed by raising taxes would destroy the government's balance sheet. Didn't happen
On Tuesday you can project getting laid three times this weekend all you want, or plan on drinking yourself silly on a saturday and project yourself hungover on Sunday, but come the following monday you might find yourself still chaste, and despite polishing off that entire bottle of Absolute you were surprisingly hangover free on Sunday. Shit happens.
I put little stock in "projections". I'd rather see policy implemented given a chance and then measured in the real world. We tried it Bush's way for eight years and look where it got us. We're not even a year into Obama's administration and you're using projections fo gloom and some are arguing he's a nazi. Seriously. Someone is living in the real world and some are living in World of Warcraft, and it's not us liberals picking up armor at the blacksmith to fight the orcs.
