That IS NOT what the CA government was trying to do, clearly. One of the measures wanted to"borrow from future state lottery revenue", for crying out loud.
What the CA government DID want to do was, tax more, borrow more and spend more. Precisely what they should NOT be doing anymore.
Now comes the pain. Cut, cut, cut. Reduce spending. Become more fiscally responsible. Quit borrowing money that the state does not have. That is what the no votes were all about, Sir ukit.

That says it all right there imho. It's always we need to raise taxes to do XYZ....the money goes elsewhere, then they come back and want to raise taxes again.

^ Recently heard that up to 1000 folks per day are leaving California for other west-coast states, btw. We have lost a remarkable number of friends, family, families and colleagues, whom have moved out since 2008.

Releasing the detainees which Bush did, and transferring them from one maximum security prison to another is not the same thing.
Either way, they are locked up in a cell somewhere, and they aren't getting out. This isn't like an action movie where they are gonna bust out of jail somehow and run around town shooting people and setting bombs off until Jean Claude Van Damme arrives to save the day.
Use your brain, it's not that difficult.

lazerbass, I deplore and despise human mistreatment, and torture (as defined). Especially in war, the carnage and abuses. Unimaginable to most people. I am blessed that I never had to serve in the military or live in a war-zone (but if called to serve, would not hesitate to do so). I have nothing but respect for those that have, and do. Even those that may serve an "enemy" nation. All humans. Except terrorists.
That said, I am not the President so I don't set the policies. However, much happens in war. And it's sad. But, the terrorists want to kill people. Westerners. You and I. Our children. The USA and other countries are fighting an active war. And things may get much, much worse.
I don't agree with "torture camps". And water-boarding, as defined by our government was not torture. And it yielded effective, life-saving intelligence during a very tense time. Do you remember 9/11? I do, every day.

So when Bush released the 500 terrorists you mentioned above, did you even notice?

On the other hand if Obama released 500 terrorists and Limbaugh or Cavuto or whatever told you to be pissed about it, I'm sure you would have posted about it hundreds of times and used up several boxes of tea protesting.
Just don't pretend you have a single original thought on these issues just because you are capable of repeating the shit you hear on TV. Some people would call that being a sheep.

Today, Iran successfully test-fired and flew a ballistic missile with a 1300 mile range, and capable of striking Israel and other US military installations within the Persian Gulf with utter accuracy. And yes, this missile would be more than capable of delivering a nuclear pay-load.So what should President Obama do?
