Joe the Plumber interview
http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/200…
Wurzelbacher spoke to Katie Couric of CBS Evening News on October 15, shortly after the conclusion of the final debate. Asked whether Obama's proposed $250,000 tax threshold would affect him, Wurzelbacher replied: "Not right now at presently, but, you know, question, so he's going to do that now for people who make $250,000 a year. When's he going to decide that $100,000 is too much, you know? I mean, you're on a slippery slope here. You vote on somebody who decides that $250,000 and you're rich? And $100,000 and you're rich? I mean, where does it end?" He also said, “I asked the question but I still got a tap dance ...almost as good as Sammy Davis, Jr.”- and....fifteen minutes are up. Thank you for playing Joe, please accept this year supply of Rice-A-Roni as a special parting gift...TheBlueOne

- That doesn't mean his questions were illegitimate. The % gap is starting to close.********
- Weird. My household income is what Joe wishes his was. I'm voting for Obama. So is everyone in my social circle.TheBlueOne
- Joe is making pronouncement about what he assumes he'd want if he had what he didn't.TheBlueOne
- Even as much as I dislike the whole Joe the Plumber thing. He's got a point. Income Tax began only taxing the top 1%.tommyo
- Shit slides downhill. Our gov needs to just not spend for a while. Not going to happen, but still.tommyo

You can take absolutely any position on any issue and say "Well, it's a slippery slope, where does it stop" and seemingly turn it into a nightmare. Any position (heck, anyTHING) taken to it's extreme will be disastrous.
For example, McCain would like to overturn Roe v Wade and make abortions illegal. But it's a slippery slope, dictating what women can do with their bodies. What's next? Telling them what they can wear? Who they can sleep with? What sexual acts they may partake in?- In summary, using the "slippery slope" argument is complete BSlocustsloth

A good video about racism and the people who vote for Obama.
There are always two sides to a story.

I just realized...I'm all politic-ed out, at least until election day. I don't see any new narratives or game changes outside of some crazy horrific late October surprise happening. It's all in god's hands now...well..and the voters...and diebold of course...
The only thing I am certain of, is If Obama does pull this off, I do expect the mainstream media narrative of the "failed Obama presidency" to start before his first hundred days in office are up though, probably led by Newt Gingrich and the revitalized Vast Rightwing Conspiracy cohorts. Just saying.
OK, see you guys on Nov 4...

The Obama/Biden ticket's entire campaign theme is based on "the last eight years." Maybe we should really look at "the last two years," or the time period when both the House and the Senate were run by Democrats.
In December 2006, after six years of Bush and the last month before the Democrats took over both houses of the national legislature, a snapshot of our economy looked like this.
* Unemployment stood at 4.4%.
* Real GDP growth over the previous four years (under a Republican President, House and Senate) averaged 3% per year.
* A gallon of regular gasoline cost $2.30.
* The S&P 500 stock index stood at 1418, or 84% above its post-911 low and more than 7% higher than when Bush took office.
* Every year of Bush's Presidency, real (inflation-adjusted) disposable income per person went up. By the end of 2006, the average person was making 9% more in real terms than before Bush became President .- Yaaawn
