is this the new mbp? it says it comes with multi touch
http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/…- it's multitouch on the trackpad, so you can make more gestures with multiple fingers .. and yes that is the latest MacBook Pro... but now just wait a couple of days ..and stop whining.Jordy

dude, it's this simple:
MacBookPro has the most CPU/graphics power
MacBook Air has nothing in it but is really thin and not made for heavy use but for convenient use, such as travel.
MacBook is a slimmed down MacBook Pro.. don't get it. It's plastic.
In short: get a MacBook Pro and never regret your choice, put Vista on it (you sinner!) and go for it. Or you could just leave Vista off of it and use Cinema4d or maya.... better and faster.
Now go trash your bankaccount on store.apple.com

I use Cinema 4D and Maya on a Mac Pro 8-core. I absolutely cannot imaging that I would ever want to use it on a MacBook Pro or anything.

Just wait...
Apple are holding a 'special event' on the 9th of September. Expect at least new iPod's and hopefully new laptops & *possibly* a new iMac.
The new laptops are to have new enclosures (read: aluminium Macbooks).

I have had my Macbook Air for 6 months its the best Mac I have ever had... Its so light, so good looking and so powerful for what I need. I have been using Macs for around 20 years and use desktop towers and have had a 17" laptop, new iMacs etc... It is such a lovely machine for the purpose that I use it for. In short, Its the best 2nd Mac you can have...

so to clarify, jordy or whomever. the newest and shiniest macbook pros come out on the 9th?
- designbot0
Yes, the Macbook Hair comes out on the 9th. It will be as thin as a strand of hair and weigh less then an atom.

ive worked on a few macbook pros with all the ram maxed out and a nice big HD for storage and ive still killed them by getting the grey screen of death but i have also work on a few airs that were maxed out and had SSD in them. there is a significant difference between the air and macbookpro. if your going for design pay the extra dollars to save yourself the hairpullng, headaches you will find yourself having. but if you just want something lightweight and able to move with easy get the macbook air.

The Air is just a tad slower than plastic macbook, it isn't "underpowered" at all.
I have two 13.3" macbooks. While white casing seems fragile, gets scratched fast and - reportedly - easily breaks, the black one is very solid and sturdy. Actually I wish they made the 15.4" Pro in that black case as I much prefer it to the aluminum one (which loves scratches btw).Still, 13.3" is useless IMO for design without an external monitor because of its small shiny LCD.

Apple store is usually the most expensive around, there's plenty of retailers online (starting with Amazon) who offer rebates and let you avoid sales tax (in US).
Apple's refurb store is a different thing, highly recommended.- i second the refurb store. bought 2 MB pros with no probs.arthur

You know, Llyod, you can always just read about the differences between the computers on Apple's website. It's very informative.
Oh, and why do you spell your name like that?
- Llyod0
