thanks for the support dudes, I appreciate it. Ultimately it was my decision, but given the fact that my time spent there was positive. This leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Oh well onto new endeavors. It was also nice to sleep 12 hours straight last night

that is some bull shit. I saw someone get let go the same day they put in their two weeks on my last job, so when I got a new gig, I just called my boss and was like "I quit and I already cleaned out my desk". She answered with "you could have given me a 2 weeks notice". lol. yeah.

I've seen this happen before, but only after a few people end up leaving around the same time. Boss told me this when I left my last job that I might be asked to leave earlier in an attempt to "diffuse" the interest of others leaving as well. I ended up staying the full two weeks, but others were cut loose early without explanation to the group.
Personally I think it is bad practice - especially bad for the relationships you might have built with co-workers. It appears as though you just left or were fired.

I guess the biggest thing is that it was just disappointing. I mean as far as I could tell the entire time I was there relationships amongst colleagues were really positive. It was technically my first salaried job so it might look as if bridges were burned even-though I did everything right when leaving (didn't say anything negative at all). Just disappointing all in all.

just to set the record str8.... this company all in all has been very good to me, and is a great company to work for. I understand it would have been awkward had I been hanging around the office working for the next few weeks,

take this time and do something fun. fuck freelance, there is all the time in your life for work. but how often do you just get a 3 wk vaca handed to you. So you have to live cheap for a month, fuck it! still better to have the time than the money me thinks.
