Im surprised at the amount of Metallica knowledge in this thread.

Please qualify the following criticisms:
- choch metal
-lame production
-lack of dynamicsi agree with the rest of your points. But remember that a person's affinity for music often has little to do with the technical prowace or know-how of the musician. More often it's the emotion that the music elicits. You can be a technical master, producing multi-section, fully orchestrated masterpieces, but if non-musicians get lost or become disinterested half-way thru the song, who the fuck cares except other musicians? To say that Zappa was better strictly because his songs had more musical depth is short sighted at the least, if not downright elitist

"Legendary Danish metal singer King Diamond joined Metallica on stage during the San Francisco band's headlining appearance at the at the one-day Ozzfest last night (Saturday, August 9) at Pizza Hut Park in Dallas to perform a medley of Mercyful Fate classics."
This is seriously fucking awesome. Recorded directly from the board, so it sounds great. As soon as "Satan's Fall" kicked in I got a damn chill.

Waaaaaahhhh. All the rich entitled middle aged spandex clad Marin County health freaks have to hike a few extra miles before they get their frappucinos and head back to their McMansions. It's just awful.
I like hiking as much as the next person but private land is private land. Some land owners don't mind and some do. The U.S. Forest Service closes off roads and trails in national forests and parks all the time for various reasons.

Fuck em! Go James!
- Bender0
So, he buys some land, where the previous owner have allowed people to walk on and eventually it becomes an "everybody's trail"
He cuts it off because he now owns it and don't want Joe Dirt there anymore and it turns into even more evil metallica internet hating.
I bet you he doesn't give a flying fuck what people think, and why should he, it's his and he can do whatever he wants with it. Find another hill to clime FFS!
Fuck all you hating hippies, Go James.
