Is it me, or does everytime someone save's for web for the first time in photoshop it takes FOREVER to load the preview window before saving out to x format.
I don't remember being it being this slow since coming from a PC.

takes forever

usually it lags for me a bit too. I think its because the save for web is its own small little program or plugin, that has to initialize when you first save something out. once you start it up, its there until you restart photoshop. at least thats what I've always assumed.

yeah, it's happened to me multiple times on the mac. I'm using cs3 and it will occasionally jump right into pinwheel mode for about 10 secs after selecting save for web. Don't know exactly why. Pain.

its usually painfully slow after you've been working in PS for awhile with large files/lots of layers. Then like you say, the first time you start it, it can take forever.
I always like to save the psd before saving for web just in case I have to force quit.

So slow.
Helps to flatten/merge and res down the PSD before saving for web. Then you can just undo 2x's to restore the original.
- and save accidentally and close, which i have doneMrDinky
- Sucks - I have the itchy Command-S reaction as well.metal_leg_will

depends on how big the file is you're trying to optimize since it has to do all the processing to give a preview of the different formats.
- doesn't matter actually. i mean it does, but sometimes it will take 4-eva saing a png-8 that is 14k!?lvl_13

Photoshop is a monothreaded piece of shit like everything else from Adobe.
