I fucking hate it! Finally found a place that I didn't want to throw up in after being in it for 10 minutes. We made an offer $6000 above asking price and some other couple put $15,000 on top of that and got it.

I'm in the same boat right now. We've put an offer on 2 different places and both sellers increased their listing price in the form of a counter so our counter both times has been "suck it, good luck selling your house before you default." We're looking at another handful tomorrow.
Its your market though, be patient.

my parents live in London, you get a big bang for your buck there probably 1/3 of toronto prices for the same house.
