Hey, Im design a 3 brochure package for a client and want to design something to encase them... like a slipcase but Im just not inspired by anything at the moment...
I can't say what the project is but it has to do with Scandinavian design & Architecture.Anyone have any examples? Material/Paperstock? Production techniques?
Thanks for help... Im stumped

what is your combined thickness? I worked on a campaign that involved a 107-pg. perfect bound book and 4 accordion-fold brochures. We designed a polypro, clear frosted folder that housed everything. It would have all worked beautifully, had the client chosen to (a) pay for glued cases rather than self-tab, and (b) had the printer not trimmed the books too small. You can see from the photo that the books were too short. I was soooo pissed. Good news though: they're doing a reprint run this year, so we can fix all the stupid production problems.

Another one: we use Frasier corrugated black paper to house all the Direct Mail we design for Formica.

It has to be sturdy, and has to last, something you can put the brochures back into... the clear frosted slipcase is something I was thinking about.
gramme - the combined thickness is roughly an inch. Can you print on the polypro?

But... but... you're not a designer???
How about not paper/jewel case, something different:
or I got this book a few years ago, some cool stuff in it:

In regard to the poly pro question, Im sure gramme can fill you in with more details but I worked on a project recently using a product called priplak which is a type of polypro.
We were told we could print process on it and just used black to print some text (9pt - 16pt) and the printer couldn't do it. We then used black foil which clumped up in some of the more delicate type areas, and we then tried screen printing black on it which resulted in a washed-out ink coverage.
In the end we used the foil but the finishers had to do em up x4 instead of x8 so they could watch the quality on them. It was a nightmare, and I don't think the client was really happy with the result. so you just have to be careful with the process and the design its used with.
- I kinda figured it would be pain to do any printing... maybe Ill try embossing or a die cutimnotadesigner
