Tried googling.... but has anyone heard of a script where, let's say, you have a psd in a specific folder and when you "save for web" it opens the directory the PSD is in? (Basically just a matter of saving the jpg by pressing enter instead of navigating all the way to the specific folder)
It's not for a long/lengthy batch or anything per say, but just almost just a preference.

I am sure there is a preference to "save as" into either the last folder navigated to OR the same location as the current file.
There used to be in OS9

"Just use PS actions.. "
It'll always go to the last folder saved to... no?

Isn't the default action in windows save as dialog? (You can choose either to save with Adobes save as dialog or windows built in dialog, i think)

If you have a say 10 PSD files and you want them all save on your desktop as jpg's as 60% jpg compression. Open all 10 PSD's and press record and save one header as a jpg in the folder you want and then close that PSD and then press stop. Then just press play and all the other headers will be save in that folder as jpg's. Now in the future if you want to change the location of the folder then open the action and see where the save location is and change it to a new file path.

Thanks Psykho.
Though that is helpful, navigation in server/client folders, especially in the agency I am in can be complex. Usually the case if for a PSD here and there, sometimes for really random requests. I can see the benefit for a batch, but when it comes down to single psd files.. can be a hassle, maybe I am lazy... but you know how it is when people ask you for something while you are on something else.
It's just one of those things that would be a nice-to-have.

I know what you mean lobstarr, I have tons of action's here and if someone here in my office needs a quick jpg or two this is the system I use, it quick and will save you allot of time and mouse clicks :) But don't you this system for large amounts of PSD files, use the batch for that.

batch processing you can choose an action to perform, as well as a source and a destination folder.

Not a photoshop fix but helpful nonetheless.
