honestly it's expensive but probably not quite as much as you think. Check out this dude Tom Barr - http://www.barrreport.com/
He does installations like that. I saw some of his setups on a fish nerd forum (yeah I'm a fish nerd) and they're amazing.

I'd be more into the outcome than the process. I want something elaborate with living plants and a whole ecosystem. I don't have what it takes and I know it. thanks for the link nocomply.

I have some serious gardening to do in mine, my java fern has been going nuts since I put the eheim in.

i have an eheim also, UV ster, enough light, fertilizer.. they just move around and never root into anythingbeingdevious_v2 - I have mine wrapped round some jarrah driftwood and they love it!slappy
