hey dog, give us some example of seymour hersh's casual relationship with reality. I'm tired of you righties making statements and never backing it up with facts.
- we all know the new yorker is not politically biased at all, correct?johndiggity

Hey, dob, the burden of proof is on whoever is making the positive claim (at least if we want to be rational), in this case, Hersh. Unnamed sources doesn't cut it for me, and I would hope that you agree.
I don't mind if you're tired of me (you can always ignore me if you want to be mature about it), but I have to take exception with this "righties" designation. I vote for Republicans and Democrats; I'm not a partisan, in other words. You are. That's a pity.
Regarding making statements and never backing "it" up with facts: you should know about that! http://www.qbn.com/topics/560384… (hint: Dennis Miller is like your Dad's racist friend... something along those lines)
Partisanship on either side of the political aisle is stupid, dishonest, and counterproductive.
- yes, regarding the burden of proof. Like stating that someone has weapons of mass distruction.Josev
- "destruction", sorryJosev
- I'm not quite sure what that has to do with this discussion, but have at it, old boy!dog_opus
- oh, come on, it doesn't take much to make the connection. Are you that obtuse?Josev
- We were discussing Sy Hersh, not the Iraq war. Also, insults don't make you right.dog_opus
- Actually, you were discussing Sy Hersh. The article posted was about allegations that Bush Admin members were trying to lie us into another war, as they did with Iraq Do I need to draw any more lines?Josev

- Hey dummy, "we" is dob and I. I also find your ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to your magazine.dog_opus

seems realistic to me. they've done worse in the name of starting wars. Tonnes worse is going on right now, there's covert ops all over iran and pakistan collaborating with militias and poking the fire and its not like these ideas are somehow unique to the Bush admin.
- Your ideas of fascinating and I'd like to subscribe to your magazine.dog_opus

good thing the current administration wouldn't think up things like making up "weapons of mass destruction" just to invade a country. i mean i'm so glad we are living in a country with such honest administration.
oh man, and i'm so glad our leaders always know what's best... such as starting the Vietnam war based on "credible evidence" as documented in this documentary ("Fog of War"):

Hmmm. I'd pretty much forgotten about this thread. It's still unhinged and loopy.

cheney is just there to take the blame. these things are a distraction from the fact that military experts in the pentagon are the ones really doing all the planning while he's just suggesting that they conjure up something to highten tensions or start something. all this supposedly incriminating stuff is just coming out as the bush admin is on the way out, sets the mood for the next admin to look like the good guys while even more underhanded stuff goes on.
- KwesiJ0
its a stupid idea too, really you think anyone would just come right out and tell the world what they're thinking about to start war? not a chance, even the iran navy incident was meant to fail..."hey look over here! we're trying to pull another gulf of tonkin!" meanwhile war rages on and its only a matter of months before the new prez is in office ripe for something real to happen

Doesn't this whole anthrax scientist suicide strike anyone else as kinda, you know, fishy...I remember Lieberman and one other guy going on tv right after it happened saying they had proof that it came from Saddam/Iraq because of some kinda signature chemical in it that only the Iraqis had...and now, suddenly, it's a US scientist and *wow* he conveniently offed himself (no details about the suicide either) before they could ask him anything...
The mind simply reels...

McCain from 2001 on Letterman @ 1:08. Anthrax came from Iraq..we'll have to go in there and get those guys...
O Rlly?? And now the thing unravels and the guy commits suicide? It's like a fucking X-Files episode...

"To Provoke War, Cheney Considered Proposal To Dress Up Navy Seals As Iranians And Shoot At Them»"
these are called false flag operations, most wars have been started this way.
if your interested in more on this, check out the documentary "terrorstorm" http://www.prisonplanet.com/arti…Also a good read "propaganda" by Edward Bernays.

FCUKING SCUB BAG CHENEY AND BUSH
"Speaking at the Campus Progress journalism conference earlier this month, Seymour Hersh — a Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist for The New Yorker — revealed that Bush administration officials held a meeting recently in the Vice President’s office to discuss ways to provoke a war with Iran."
