Roger Sterling's autobiography out for Christmas ... http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/…
- SteveJobs0
so i downloaded all "12" seasons of mad men, watched them all overnight, and then came here and read a "marriage" comment... oops.
somehow, 12 almost felt like it could have been the finale. cliffs were hung and the state of the company, and draper's life were certainly in question. then comes 13, and before you know it, it's dr. miller who? i liked the initial chemistry between draper and the secretary chick. they couldn't have set it up the any better for the big impulsive proposal that came out of nowhere. i find it funny that don's pulling a roger sterling - something he gave roger serious shit for when he did it. and i gotta say, when secretary chick came in to see don immediately after he got off the phone with faye and told him "i love you", you can almost feel the remorse and him questioning his impulsive desicion. gjdm
- what?pastpastdue
- there were 4 seasons total, so far.
I hate time travelers.dopepope - oops, by seasons i meant episodes.. like i said - i watched them all overnight.SteveJobs

Don went to his source of wisdom and inspiration, California and everything became clear to him.
Note how he didn't lie to kids about his name on the wall, how he was open with Megan about the Faye situation (she obviously knew, being his secretary). He's found solution to all problems in being true to people he cared about. The season ends in a funny way because on one hand it's the same situation he ridiculed Roger for and on the other you can see the new chick is wholly different class and from what we saw, a good person to boot.
Dumping Faye was on the cards, this woman was trouble in the long run. I don't see how marrying a superambitious PhD-wielding professional was a better choice than marrying an ambitious secretary. Faye was a female Don. And really, was Faye an "artistic person", huh? :D
It was presented to you clearly: Faye: stressed out, almost shaking all the time, loses temper, terrible with kids; Megan: angelic.I guess next season starts with Don and Megan having a baby, so the part of weirdness of her still being a secretary will be spared for us.
I predict it will be about Don—who just found his true self—learning that his true self is being a Dick, name pun intended.
BTW, he just run away from women who knew his past, anyone taking bets if he's going to share the truth with the new wife? For those complaining about Mad Men turning into a soap opera, have you seen seasons 1, 2 and 3?

He most definitely not face his past, he told 2 little kids that he goes by dick. he didnt say thats my real name, im not who you think i am.
"whos dick?" "well thats me, thats my nickname sometimes"
Thats like me telling my parents i go by sofakingbanned.
Its a start I guess... Im sure sally will later ask him about it, so he will have to elaborate at some point... but it wont be the truth i'll put monies on it.Make no mistake Don is still very much running from his past, getting married Megan is like a recovering alcoholic pounding a bottle of Jack Daniels.
Feye is the truth, Megan is the enabler (without her knowing of course)
Feye is a female Don? how? The only thing they have in common is that they are strong and dedicated to their work. Shes not an over indulger, shes not hiding from her past or in denial about who she is and unlike don she has the balls to face her problems / reality.
i don't get where you're going with artistic person? As designer i think we know that being with an artistic person isn't always a sure match. you need someone that challenges and inspires you... they don't have to be artistic themselves to do that.Don't get me wrong i love Dons charter but when the shit hits the fan he's a coward, he's shown it time and again. Remember when Pete found out who he was??? going to Rachael place talking about lets run away? what kind of man does that?
But for the sake of the show and entertainment going with feye would not be the right choice, choosing megan is the right choice in making the show more interesting and not ending what we've come to love.
I don't mean to bust your bubble but that relationship is not gonna last, no way he ends up with her.
but I guess everyone has their own point of view.
- Megan said she was an "artistic person" who "dabbled" in painting, acting, etc. I wrote it tongue-in-cheek.raf
- ...and I wrote Don will find his real self is being a Dick, which he'll dramatically get to in next season.raf
- In real life Megan would be perfect. For TV drama and story development Faye would prolly be better.raf
- What??? lol dude you're crazy. shes a perfect mistress, not a wife.sofakingbanned
- yeah but have you seen her boobS?pastpastdue
- ( , ) ( , )sofakingbanned
- She's actually so much better wife material than Faye. Megan seems to have her shit together, Faye is always ...raf
- ...on the verge of an emotional explosion. It could be the actress, not the character though :)raf
- Megan believes the myth that is 'Don Draper' and idolises it. Faye was trying to encourage Don to destroy the myth.lukus_W
- Don took the more comfortable option .. and could be considered chicken-shit for doing so.lukus_W
- Megan is the closet to what Betty _used_ to be like, but better. Why wouldn't he since he does miss having a family (when it suited him).ETM
- ...when it suited him.ETM

^ haha, i almost mentioned him too, but the fact that i forgot his name and would have had to refer to him as 'this guy' changed my mind.
- brandelec0
it was a trade-off i guess since they've introduced some great characters since
- lukus_W0
Why can't they just sort it out!!!?
- abettertomorrow0
Looks like it won't be back til 2012. Too bad:(
- CyBrainX0
Bad news, but the silver lining is that they want to run it at LEAST two more seasons. The last I read was that they ONLY wanted two more seasons.
- ernexbcn0
Well at least we have Breaking Bad this summer.
- abettertomorrow0
Now they are saying it may be cancelled for good

I guess it did kind of end on a conclusive note, with Don Draper getting married. Oh well.
