Hi Guys, until now in this site I didn’t find a quality response. Now I have a real issue, I guess most of the users here are working in Mac.
I have brand new Mac Book Pro with 2 gigs ram and 2.5 - processor. I want to install Win XP, now I hope I will get answers from experienced users, please if you guys just want to freak out and give negative comments please do it elsewhere. Let this forum be a informative one please.
What should I use Boot Camp or Parallels Desktop?
Thanks in advance

Parallels gets my vote, If for nothing else than the ease of file sharing.

You can use both.
I have a Boot Camp partition with XP on it so I can boot into it when I just need to work in Windows for a while. But I also have Parallels so I can quickly run IE (from my Boot Camp install!) when I need to debug something.
If you're thinking one of another, think if you have any reason that you need to run Windows by itself (games, etc)
- Not really as i have a deidcated workstation for XP, just to run few apps like Photoshop and convert it to localhost web server.thanks_kelpie
- Huh? Why not run Photoshop on the Mac then?yaphi
- some plugins doesnt support photoshop mac versionthanks_kelpie

Hello guys, well finally after reads blogs and post and threads, I have installed Bootcamp, and after that Parallels. Everything seems working fine, I strongly suggest you guys to use this.

I'd go with VMware Fusion, Parallels worked fine while using windows but then the mac part got so slow everytime.
Never happend to fusion

Using Both. Works well. Playing Half Life 2 and stuff. Only problem I got, I can't install the update of Bootcamp... God know why.

i use parallels to do stuff really quick in windows

Both are really good but remember - if you are running Paralells now and want to install Boot Camp, you'll have to partition your drive which means erasing your data and starting over.
Also - Bootcamp will run from your chipset (eg: faster but need to re-boot to go from system to system) while Parallels will run virtually (slower but easier to switch back and forth)
- yeah i encountered this issue, now i use boot camp and same installation i use with parallels. Its coolthanks_kelpie
