Sounds like he'd do well in a cabin or motorhome or on a boat. Folks in those situations claim you get used to it in a hurry and the tight space isn't a big deal.
It's probably more about the type of person you are. I prefer to stay home -- so just from an entertainment standpoint that setup would never work for me.
